Have no idea of how hard this would be to do, but...

How about the option to select an empty bomb bay on bombers and some attack planes. For example, the 24's, 17's, Lanc's, A-20 can't fly with an empty bomb-bay. It would be nice to train with those aircraft without the extra weight. The A-20 would also be nice to fly with only the external bombs for a light attack mission. Some of the bombers have the option, some don't.

If ordnance is disabled, you can't even get to the runway.

A no-bomb option is a good idea at the very least for an aircraft like the A-20.

Uhhh, no...

Low and slow in a bomber is not my idea of how to shoot down other planes--that's what fighters are for. I'm not lobbying to be able to shoot from the turrets on the runway either. And, upping an IL-2 or A-20 for air-to-air is not my idea of smart.

All I'm asking for is to have an option to empty the bomb bay. Like I said, we should be able to up an A-20 with only externals. Also, for teaching/learning stick and rudder skills in a bomber, it'd be nice to not have to lug around that extra 4,000-6,000 bombs, or even dispense with them on the runway.

Dude just drop em as you take off and have you ever seen an IL2 dog fight of course you have thats what those armoured piercing 23mm cannons are for to hit you and kill you from 800 out to anti vulch and whats the point of learning stick and rudder skills in a bomber???? They are slow and dumpy except that lanc at 50k:lol and when was there a bomber mission where they didn't use bombs??? Reason why they have this is to prevent deathstars from upping and pwning all the guys that pad their scores by coming in and vulching one or two people and run and say i r teh 1337!
