DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Oh yea thats just the best way I can think of to ruin one of the best love stories ever, and ruin a scifi movie at the same time.

They finally did it a two ruin for one deal.

"one of the best love stories ever"

As I recall, that film was about a naive rich girl being seduced by a worthless bum who had apparently played previous women in much the same manner.  That's not a love story; that's a sad farce.  Perhaps it's also a cautionary tale.

Only a woman could like that story.  The total lack of logic and rationality displayed by the "heroine" was extremely realistic in the sense that probably 75% of real girls that age would make the exact same idiotic mistakes, which is likely why so many women find themselves single in their 30's with kids from different guys and few prospects.

When my wifey (GF back in those days) convinced me to watch that movie, I remember thinking a slow painful death was fitting for that scumbag "Jack".

My Ex and daughter said the same thing... "Titanic is a love story!!"

They were distressed by my insistance it was a shipwreck.

They continued to press the point... and were even more upset when they said they were going to see it and I told them how it was gonna end.

"the ship sinks."

"NO!! It's not just that.. it has a PLOT!"

"ok, ship sinks, the guy dies; the hottie lives."

Coupla weeks later my kid confided "daddy, you were right. You suck; but you were right."
