You have probly heard of flight 19.  If not, it was a navigation training flight of 5 TBMs that took off from Fort Laderdale, Florida on December 5, 1945.  They flew over the bermuda triandle and got lost because of compass falures and lost contact with the fort.  They ran out of fuel and crashed out in the bermuda triangle.  There was an extensive search and weren't found.  They still are lost.

I have heard of ppl seeing UFOs crash in Georgia that night but weren't found and some ppl say they are still in the bermuda triandle.  I don't know which one is right or mabye niether.

Anyone have a guess?

Yes, they nicked the aircraft flew to Mexico and sold them, then disappeared ?

They interviewed the radio operator at the base in contact with flight 19. According to him(and others) the lead pilot got confused. He said the commander thought they should head east when in truth that was leading them further into the atlantic. Basically the radio operator talked him into going west for a bit when they got lost. As time went by the radio operator was able to turn down the power of the radio and still communicate. Weaker signal + still communicating= Flight 19 getting closer. After awhile the flight commander said he was turning East again as he felt that going west wasn't working. When he did so, the radio operator once again had to increase power to remain in communication with them until they eventually went out of range/crashed. Also mentioned is the fact that for some reason the flight commander thought they had drifted all the way down to the keys, he actually states this over the radio. Hence the reason he wanted to go to the east, to hit florida. While in truth he was over the various islands of the carrabian and heading east out into the atlantic. Very sad really.

thnx i know there are many theorys.  Correction there where 9 planes.  I think he thought he was over the keys.  He made contact with another plane over central Florda.  He told the other pilot he was lost.  The pilot told him to fligh north and he would guide them and he would fligh south towards him.  While flight 19 flew north over the bahamas (thinking it was the Florida Keys) in to the Atlantic. the other plane nearing the keys was losing contact with flight 19.  He flew over the keys looking for flight 19,  after he lost contact he looked for flight 19 for a couple of hours until had to go back for fuel.  Flight 19 was never found after that.      

It's very sad.  29 men died     One of the last transmissions was, "Once the first person runs out of fuel we all crash land with him,"  Commander of flight 19

Hot Air.



That's the cause of the bermuda triangle, hot air.  There are volcanic vents under the ocean.  Occasionally they'll release super heated air.

If this gets under a ship, it'll break the spine and the ship will sink.  If it gets under a plane, the plane will lose control and crash.

I saw a documentary where Flight 19 airplanes were intact and found in Mexico in 1977.  The planes were still full of gas, and started right up.

The pilots were then found wandering around Southeast Wyoming a few weeks later, still the same age as when they dissappeared.

...How  I remember seeing an article which stated those Avengers had been found (at least one) in the bottom of the ocean... Well I might be wrong (again).

Errr... Hot Air -- actually, just a CO2 belch. Cause aircraft engines to cut out and ships to founder. Case in the Atlantic recently where a ship's waterline dropped a couple meters instantaneously due to an underwater CO2 release.

That doesn't mean Flight 19 was lost due to that.

There were 5 planes.  There was also a PBM that was lost during the search.
