eny restrictions
« on: April 17, 2006, 10:48:22 AM »
I'm not going to complain about having an eny restriction but I will complain about how it's implemented in what I think alot of people (mostly knights) feel is unfair or doesnt make any sense.  Here is an example from last night.  At a point when the Rooks out numbered the Knights by 70 and the Bish out numbered the Knights by 50, the eny restriction for Rooks was 2.7 and the Bish was 0.0.  Not much of a limiter considering the huge number disparity IMO.  I thought the whole purpose of the eny restrictions was to try and balance out the game play by restricting aircraft availability when there were large number disparities or does that only apply to the Knights?
Yes I know I suck, other wise youuuuu would be dead so stop bragging.

ENY sucks all the way around.  You can argue it balances sides, but as you can see from all the posts, it doesnt work very well in that reguard, and you end up anoying a good portion of your loyal customer base.  When AH stoped rewarding success and instead began punishing you for it, the game changed, and not for the better.  Strategic thinking, and long term planing is gone, we now have nothing but isolated skirmishes, but the whines and complaints remain steady from those who feel they arnt being given enough of an advantage.

Idea:  If one side outnumbers the low side by x%, then the map will be reset in 5/10 minutes with no winner being declared.

This would eliminate the horde's goal and give players enough time to balance the arena.

Another idea to punish those who play well and reward those who dont....if you start to lose, log off for a few minutes and force a reset.  The issue is that when you start to win the war, without reguard to how many players you have -vs- the enemy, they will start to log off, and you will end up with an insane high punative NME because of nothing more than playing well.

Rather than impose EMY, turn the arena settings to dusk/dawn....that makes more folks log :D

Crank the perk multipler... If you're making 10-20 points per kill, I'm sure that'd be incintive to change!

I mean - it's about incintives and payola right?......if it wasn't - there'd be no border issues. :D

even with ENY that high, bish still had WAY high numbers advantage (even though they were about to reset the nits. ENY limiter dont really deter anyone, might be better off to disabling the ENY limiter.  Might make the game more fun

Only people to blame are the Knit country jumpers.

NEVER seen Bish with that many players, and a lot of them I didn't even recognise.

All honesty Knits were hosed once they lost A30 and their dar, then suddenly our numbers jumped way up.
So look to yourselves, you know who jumped ship.

Meatwad - I was ENY'd and no I don't think it should be disabled, would have given us WAY too much an advantage.
Was kinda fun killing 1944/5 planes in a Hurri 2c of DOOM.

Meddog - The time at which ENY kicks in is a % of the MA numbers. Therefore the more numbers that are on overall, the difference has to be bigger.
Preferred it the old way - Kicked in earlier but more gradually, but too many complained about it. With average MA numbers it seems to start at around 40-50 players extra.

One deterrence (maybe) - You have to be on a country for 12hrs (or something) to get perk points on a reset?
