Im sure this has been asked a million times, but how do i take screenshots from the Aces High's Film Viewer? Been filming a lot of my squads fights over the past couple of days and want to make some screenshots for our webpage!

The Best way is to open it full screen an then Press Alt & Print Screen Keys then you can use Paint or some other program to paste them into. I use paint because its easy, but Paintshop Pro is good, even the FRAPs program can take a screenshot. Here is an image I captured in the First Frame of Stalin's 4th Scenario. I am using it as a background on my website. I use lots of them.

after i press Alt print screen, what should happen?? tried it and nothing happened.

you need to paste the screen capture in a software like paint/painshop pro/photoshop.

ALT Printscreen takes a screenshot of the current active window (to get one of the whole screen just press Printscreen). The data gets temporarily stored on your Clipboard. After pressing the key, just open some graphic editing software - MS Paint, Photoshop, GIMP, open a new file and Paste the content of the clipboard into the file (CTRL V or "paste" in the menu). Then just "save as".

I dont even do fullscreen cause I know how to "cut-it-out". Nice pic there btw. Anyways, schatzi is right. Just go to fullscreen mode, adjust the camera, then hit the "Prt Scr / Sys Rq" button to take a screen shot. Then go to: Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint. Once in it, go to: File>New. If it asks to save the current picture, simply press "No". Then once the new file is ready, press: Ctrl + V. SIMPLE....

Sorry my instructions were not on the money. Thanks to all for adding and clarifying the rest.

I normally use Alt + Print Screen because I usually have multiple things open at work, and as stated, it only captures the open active window. Print Screen will capture your desktop, icons, taskbar, basically anything and everything you still see-it captures. It copies it to the clipboard (memory) until you copy something else.

What we failed to tell you, when you click "Save As", saving it as a .bmp (bitmap) is the largest type file with the most color and clarity. Saving the same image to a .jpg will significanly reduce the size without much loss in color and clarity. Most .bmps are going to be around 2-3MB each, depending on screen size and resolution. That same image may be as small as 105KB, like the one I posted above. With numbers like those, it would take nearly 20 - 30 .jpgs to equal 1 .bmp. So if space is an issue or downloading speeds are a concern, then the .jpg wins all around and hands down. Aces High Screenshots captured in real time online or offline are .bmps (Alt + S). They are saved as ahss##.bmp (like ahss12.bmp) in the HTC folder on your local drive.

Yep, got it to work and i must say, got some really sweet screenshots. Only problem now, is trying to upload them on here to show you them all! lol...tried that Picture Hanger thing but couldnt find where i register!! This stuff is given me a headache!!

Well, the picture hanger is one of those things that is not working, I believe. Don't take my word for it. However, you can store them on many free websites on the internet or if you have your own, there.. and then "link" them here. The picture I "linked" above is located on my website at http://www.kkenshome.com inside a "backgrounds folder". If you right click on the image and select Properties you will see exactly where and the name of the image as well. Using the exact location and the IMG tag here will link it so it appears in the message. Try copying the address in the properties for my image and linking it here. Then you will see how it works, or doesn't work.

Anyway, glad it worked for you. Other messages in this message board grouping do contain some sites where you can store images for free. You might look back 90 days or just search for a keyword.

I think for a ph account, you have to contact TBolt and/or Replicant/NexX with an email. They closed open registration due to overflow of non-AH people.

Hey Joedog...
I use a website called photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com)

I've got a free account and I've liked it a lot... they have pay accounts if you want to store more/larger files or films but I just use the photo part and it works great for me... (a little fyi, be sure to save your images at jpegs rather than bmp's... the file size is much smaller and you can store more photos on the site that way)...
