Bf 110G-2

Here's a skin I been working on for a few days. I thought I had it all colored in but just noticed I forgot the rudders. I'm still working on the textures for the sides, but the wings are pretty much done..except for the lettering and stuff.

It's my second attempt at a skin since AW.

Any tips or gripes??

Bf 110 G-2 of Hptm. Rolf Leuchs Gruppenkommandeur II./ NJG 6, Echterdingen 1944.

I have a couple of things you could fix. I did some 110C skins (They're similar) so I know what you need to look out for:

1) the camo stretches too far on the belly of the tail boom. Bring the camo up a bit (shorten it) so this isn't so prominent.

2) You need to find the part on the nose where the camo is going to end and make a border, rather than paint all the way down and then have the "chin" piece be light blue.

3) The inboard exhaust stacks point down, not up (the streaks would be underneath)

4) the underside is almost white. It needs to be darker. It also needs to be dirtier!! Much MUCH dirtier! Around the engine nacelles, the gear doors, the radiator housings, the nose, the belly (oil etc) the tail (dirt) -- muck it up!!! They kept their 109s clean but they let their 110s go to pot, it seems.

5) you can look for the area on the bmp that has the gun pack (it might be on there) -- if you can find it repaint the gunpack to be the same color as the belly.

I like the colors, though. It looks nice. Do some fine tuning and I'd fly it myself, in the main!

Oh, just noticed: Your tail fins are still white/lightblue :)

Those are in the wings file, by the rear stabs.

I'm really loving the skin, so don't take this the wrong way, buuuut...

I was thinking "Those colors look great!"... then I was thinking "Hrm... I don't recognize them, either"...

Are you sure that color scheme is accurate? Have you got sources outside of the color profile to go on? Might want to look some up, just to be sure.

Okay..I'm checking more on this before I go any further. I found one pic of another Bf110 from the same unit..but no color information yet.

I am going to keep going on this..I found info that not all NJG 6 went with the Night Fighter Colors used early in the war.
