Testosterone and Fingers
« on: April 19, 2006, 11:12:59 AM »
I was reading this BBC article about how attractive women can make men indecisive and there was a line in it that caught my attention because it just sounds like bull****.

The men's testosterone levels were also tested - by comparing the length of the men's index finger compared to their ring finger.

If the ring finger is longest, it indicates a high testosterone level.

The researchers found that men in the study who had the highest levels performed worst in the test, and suggest that is because they are particularly sensitive to sexual images.

So... I did a quick google for "ring index finger testosterone" and found 236,000 results.

My ring finger is 13% longer then my index finger.  The top soccer player from the last link has a 17% longer finger.

Now we're comparing finger sizes? Geez.

Either you suck at sports/in bed or you don't.

I'm willing to bet that Natty measured and is afraid to show his results.

I personally don't really care, I just had a metric ruler handy.

Not really - they are the exact same length and yet I'm aggressive in the sports I play (basketball and hockey).

Mine is a good half inch longer.  That explains my huge noodle and hairy back.

I read about this before but at the time it related to women, as in women whose ring fingers are longer than their index finger are more likely to be lesbian, presumably because they had been exposed to more testosterone in the womb. I know at least one butch lesbian who qualifies. She's a motorcycle cop too.  Take a look at your wife or girlfriend's fingers if you dare!

Looking at my hands, palms facing away my ring fingers look longer but with the palms facing in, both seem the same length. Anyone else notice that? But when I get the measuring tape out my left hand the index finger is slightly longer. On the other hand the ring finger is longer?

Does that mean I'm well balanced:lol
