I think thats one of those like the B-25 and B-29 that got put on the "Never List".

I say that because I figure that with all the request made for these planes, at some point the HTC folks would, I'd hope, say that they would either be considered as future add ons or tell us out and out to just drop it we'd never get them.

Then again they probably leave each night throwing money in a pot and taking bets on what people will request in the wishlist the next morning.

:)

Why say "no" to the B-25. It's got practically the same loadout as the b-26. Except adding the B-25 would just make people in the SEA arenas ask for dolittle raid maps.

B-25 would be a great addition to the plane set, however the Blackwidow wouldn't be.

It would be used in AH in a role that it was not intended for.  Sure, the Blackwidow flew a limited number of day sorties but it was primarily a night attack/fighter.  But in AH with it's lack of night, it would never be used in that role.

Having nightfighters with working radar WOULD be an incentive to bring back full night.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

B25 is an early/midwar bomber, B26 is a mid/latewar bomber.

B25 has 1.5k ord normal load (3x500lbs) or I think at most 2k ord max load (2x1000lbs), whereas B26 takes 4k (x3 bombers).

B25 -- if it had a solid nose -- would not have formations. B26 has formations.

Also B25 -- if it had a solid nose -- would have between 8x50cal and 12x50cal fixed and firing forward, later models carrying 4 rockets under the wings. It was a true ground attack craft. B26 has only 4x 50cal fixed forward and no rockets. Can't dive worth crap, loses elevators quickly, ailerons too. I can only hope/imagine the B25 is more sturdy to allow attacking things.

There's enough differences to warrant the B25. It was one of the most common bombers throughout the war.

But with the ability to crank up the gamma in game, night time is a waste of code.  Taking the gamma settings out of game will just cause players to alt+tab out of the game and tweak the gamma in the display properties.

The Black Widow has always been one of my favorites.
Had a chance to see the only restored one (that I know of) while visiting the Air Force Museum in Dayton.
I don't know if there are ANY still flying, so cranking one up in a sim environment would be cool.
Can you IMAGINE a P38 on steroids with a rear gunner and a radar operator??javascript:smilie('')
eek!
WOW!!!javascript:smilie(':aok')
aok

What's not to love about forward-facing center-mounted 4x20mm and 4x.50 cal?

Have you ever put two computers on your desk side by side with AH running with "night" turned on?  There's a huge difference between some FEs and I was shocked the first time I did it.  On my new machine with an LCD monitor I actually have to turn the gamma down to make it look like night but on my old P3 machine, night is a totally black screen.  I don't mean dark, I mean black.  Until you've seen the difference you'll never understand why people upped the gamma and that even then, it was probably still darker then what you were seeing.

I admin Close Escort and brought back the first special event in 3(?) years with night as the setup. I instruct people to adjust their gamma to a suitable setting so they can play it.  I assure you this isn't cheating, it's giving folks the tool they need to enjoy the event instead of logging off in disgust.
Easy in-game again.
