Using mouse to look around
« on: April 20, 2006, 08:39:18 PM »
I have seen a few videos that show pilots using the mouse to look around. Can anyone tell me how to set my mouse like that.

Gamer, SHIFT M wont work either if you already use the mouse for flying!

Besides, in a fight, mouse look wont help you at all, sonce you need both hands to control plane. Best is to use the snap (f7) or the instant (f9) views on your numpad numbers/hatswitch (if you got a joystick). You have 8 way views, a "look up" - combine those and you get 17 views total. Set those up with good head positions and you have the perfect basis for a good Situational Awareness of all that happens around you.

using the mouse to look around is something i would highly advise against.  it is a bit clumsy, and will be difficult to keep cons in your field of vision.  maybe some are good with it, dunno, but your views are of the upmost importance, map them well:)

The X45-52 and CH Pro Throttle have thumbstick mouse emulators.

It works great in IL-2 when you're tracking the flight of a bogey and the hat views are too strict and restrictive.

One of the hugest advantages AH has over IL2 are the views available :).

Aces High 2 has full support for the TrackIR. That's awesome. I know what I'm getting for my birthday.
