how about adding this to 262 loadout?
« on: April 20, 2006, 11:14:19 PM »
as stated in the ultimate authority on all things, these rockets were used on 262's (and I think they are already an option on our FW190-F8) and could be an easy modification to do and still create something new and interseting for buff hunting jets.

hell, I know I hate making passes on B24's at any angle in a 262, the thing is like a walking "pilot wound" machine

here the link:

Wikipedia link to anti-aircraft rockets mounted on 262's

seems they could be quite successful if fired at about 600m -

woo hoo!!!

I think he's talking about R4M rockets. You could carry 24 of them (2 boxes, 1 under each wing) and they decimated bombers horribly, when used. I think they had a range greater than 600, though.

YES the R4M rockets are the ones I am talkig about and they were certianly were not unusual or obscure field mod

here's the link, sorry about the first link I posted, it was totally wrong

Wikipedia link on R4M rockets for 262

according to the data on wikipedia, they were designed effective to about 100 meters but actually 600meters turnd out to be the range in real life to obtain decent results

A battery typically consisted of two groups of 12 rockets, and when all 24 were fired at once they would fill an area about 15 by 30 m at 1000 m, dense enough that one was almost certain to hit its target.

Why they are only for a perk aircraft anyway. If your willing to spend perks for the plane why not with air to air ords as well. We already have air to air on 110 , and 190 whats the big diff?

Why, there were no sabre and mig 15s in ww2 . But there were 262s equipped with this air to air system. Rare yes ,but it's already perked. And like i also said we have air to air rockets now. As far as rare goes La7 with the 3 cannon is about as rare as it gets. Not to  mention the Ta 152 numbers .

Raider they are not MISSELS they are however UNGUIDED ROCKETS. Huge difference. No need for a bigger perk only good for 1 shot . Did you even read the link. So you want to perk the 110 when it carries it's air to air rockets also?
