AKAK or other 475th guys
« on: April 21, 2006, 04:32:02 PM »
I seem to recall a guy that was on your squad that flew F16's out of Buckley AFB, and I wanted to ask him a question.  Was wondering if you could point me in his direction or him in mine, whichever, thanks.

Well, perhaps if you could narrow down whether you want AKAK's squad or the 475th?

Think it was AKAK's, you'll have to excuse my bad memory.

Anyway was driving home from school yesterday and kept getting a glimpse of some smoke until I got home, a few miles from Buckley AFB, and saw the smoke stack seemed to comew up from there.  Haven't heard anything on the news about it (UFO crash?:noid )  Then I saw 2 A-10's flying around and figured they were doing practice bomb runs or something of that nature.  Was going to ask if he knew anything about it.

I'm in the 479th Fighter Group, not the 475th.  The 475th were the inbred bastard brothers of the 479th.  While the 479th got to live it up in England with ladies on each pilots arm every night and killing Luftwhiners by day, the 475th had to sweat it out in the hot sun on some god forsaken island with only ugly over weight native women.

And you're thinking about COFalcon that's in the Colorado Air National Guard and flies F-16s out of Buckley.  He should be popping in soon, his unit just returned from duty over seas (not sure if Iraq or Afghanistan) and is starting to play again.  The best person to use to contact him would be Iceman24 since he's a close friend of COFalcon.

My apologies for offending the 479th ;)

Thanks AKAK, he probably knows nothing of it though, being over seas and all.

You'll have to forgive AKAK.  As you can tell from his photo below, he's just a kid so he gets confused at times :)

475th of course was in combat in August of 43, while the 479th didn't fly their first mission until the end of May 44.  Someone had to be out there taking the fight to the bad guys while the 479th was trying to figure out how to fly the 38.  Of course once in England they couldn't ever quite get the hang of the 38 and gave them up for those 'Spam can" P51s.  It's not AKAK's fault though, and  those 479th guys are a good bunch even if they did have to give up their 38s :)

Any excuse to post the photo AKAK :aok

As for his comment about the women.  I don't recall Carol Landis ever taking a ride in your P38.  She did make the rounds in the Pacific however :)

This thread is now "Who are the REAL inbred bastard brothers? The 475th or the 479th?"  Discuss.
