Well, it's not out here in the UK, and it apparently doesn't have a co-op mode.

Other than that, the flight-sim newsgroup loves it

 Haven't tried this title yet,but people seem to either love it or hate it.Would like to hear more opinions here.
 Wells has FM changes that may make this a winner for offline fun at least.Looking forward to putting CFS2 thru its paces.

I love it.
The FM feels better than any other singpleplayer game, compares to AH.
The graphics are nothing short of amazing, trust me on this one. And the FPS is smooth.

The only thing I hate is the view system I am used to AH with has an awesome view system.

The game has very cool touches not found elsewere; like magneto controls, mixture controls, etc.

I highly recomend CFS2 for a singleplayer fix, for those times when the AH server is offline, or you are tired of unrealistically figting a pony in a spit.

I like this sim very much.  It (surprinsingly) woks very well on my system.  It definitely has potential to be a great single player game.  The FM is great, one of the best, if not the best, single player one out right now (though I think the one in AH is a bit better).  The graphics are mouth watering.  It looks like a computerized, color version of gun camera footage that I have seen.  The damage model is better than AH (IMO).

I love the fact that when you flame a Zeke, it trails smoke and fire, with small explosions a few times on the way down.  Very immersive.  I was flying a Helcat against a Zeke, and when I hit it, I could see the strike of the bullets from one wing tip to the other.  As the bullets crossed the fuselage, there was a burst of smoke and flame.  Very cool!!

There are a few thing that I don't like about it (such as the view system and the small number of planes to fly), but these are probs that I can deal with.  

All in all, I recommend this sim to anyone hankering for some good ole PTO action in single player.  This is a sim that is gonna stay on my HD for awhile.  I ain't quittin AH though.  I got the game for single player stuff.  For my multi fix, I am stickin with AH.

Just my thoughts on a quality sim that complements AH, not competes with it.

I tried it yesterday and was disapointed with the cockpit art, warbirds looks better.

The muzzle flashes look like flashes from a .22 rifle.

The tracers look like bottle rockets.

When I would pull back on the stick I would enter a spin or something, i'm not sure what it was.  There wasn't a stall horn or anything.  

The outside view graphics are nice and the terrain is satisfactory but its too blurred out.


I'll keep WW2 fighters on my HD for single player, I like ETO better and WW2 fighters IMO still is the best graphics for a WW2 flight sim.  Not to mention all the different skins and mods available.

P.S. I hate single player games, I like the feeling of beating another human being.

Tried CFS2 for about 20 min Saturday. Doesn't support two game controllers as AH does so I have to disconnect my pedals from the usb port or else it hoses the X36 combo settings. FM very similiar to CFS 1. Quit after killing 2 dozen computer enemies in "Quick Combat" default settings without a single loss. 1st impression, wasn't impressed. With limited time, my flying will be done in AH. Still the best - hands down!!

Eagler, I have the same controllers you do (X36 USB and the CHpropedals USB?) and it recognized the pedals right off, the breaks (red B) showed on screen. All i did was kick em back and forth once and they worked.
As for the game itself, with a install of 800+MB all I can say is not impressed. The cockpits are to put it bluntly horrible, all the gauges are there but  yucccckk. The FM on full real seems pretty nice, and the damage visualizations are great. What Mathman said  
Multiplayer is a bit rocky, sorta like EAW was before the 1.2 patch.
All in all, what it does is make me appreciate Aces High,  the talent that these 6 folks have brought to bear and the product they are making is outstanding.
And once again (cuz i find it hard to believe) 800MB+ ? !  puhhhlease

I'll take a closer look at the peds. Yes USB both. The peds seem to control the throttle in some wierd way, right rudder = 100 %throttle, left rudder = 0 throttle. I'll try a new profile.

Eagler & JimBear, Bob Church of StickWorks released a beta driver that adds external rudders support to the X36. It works with gameport pedals and CH Pro Pedals USB.

Now we can use our rudder pedals if a game only recognizes one controller.

What it does: it replaces the analog input from the throttle rudder rocker with the input from rudder pedals. And supposedly the rocker can still be used in banded mode by SGE programming!

Unfortunately, it doesn't work with EAW. That game only recognizes the joystick on ID2 if there are more than one controller and one of those is USB. And Bob's driver needs the rudder pedals to be in ID 2.

I tried it with my X36 USB/CH Pro Pedals USB, and it works, but right now I only play AH, and I am finally beginning to play EAW two years after I bought it, so I uninstalled the patch.

CFS has been sitting on a shelve for the same amount of time, and I've only completed half of WWII Fighters.

Nothing beats WB/AH multiplayer.
