Thanks all.

Yeah I am not happy with the kill markings.  They were swastikas and I tried to dupe them by replacing with crosses.  And I need to look at the rotation on a few of them as well.

Also I missed some camo on the front left fusalage where it meets the wing.

Anyone has pictures of this bird, (WW2 vintage) or knows where I can see some let me know.  There is one in Escort to Berlin on the photo page opposite of page 83.

Cheers.

If that gets accepted, I think it would be the only P51D skin I ever choose, ever again.

Two more from an old Air Classics Magazine that detailed the restoration  of a Mustang in those markings back in August 77.  Now I know why I saved it :)

These are of the real Man O' War.  The restoration is very accurate so there has to be photos of the restored bird out there too.

Thanks Dan.  Ya know I subscribed to Air Classics back then, but I got rid of those magazines years ago.  Bad move on my part.

I have oodles of photos of the restored P-51D but wanted to verify the layout fo the camo.  There is also a great painting of this bird and the artist is a known 4th FG fan and I believed he would have done great research as well.

Hmm antenna is green and I need to redo the area aft of the canopy and the inner part of the stablizers.

Again, thanks.

Heh, I started this for a squad mate for his own personal P-51D offline.  I had offered to do one for everyone with their name on the canopy, kill markings, planes codes, and nose art.  I liked this plane so much and it is so different than any other P-51D that I just went ahead and did the actual Man O War.

I must confess, I thought "Krusty can't say this one looks the same!" :rofl

You've also got some jaggies on the top of the cowling over the exhausts.
