Hangtime,

You missed a headline:
 http://www.unitedstates.com/news/farticle/610338?20011017151113

But seriously, I tend to agree with your view. The situation is getting uglier and already we seem to be embarking on a strange course of conduct. Drop food and bombs? Seems a waste to me. I'd go on with some other observations but for now I'll keep my counsel. This is a dangerous time for us as a Nation. I pray to God that he see's us through this time.

shuffle the names around a little, and you could have written this same thing 10 years ago.

10 years ago the WTC was still standing, and 2 of the 4 protagonists did not have weaponized nulear material.

This situation is making the Cuban Missile Crisis look like a mild headache.

Berkeley, home of the University of California at Berkeley campus, was the birthplace
of the free speech movement in the 1960s with Mario Salvo and has been a hotbed of
peace protests since the Vietnam War.

Napalm would *cool* their civil unrest.    :D

You housebreak puppies with a rolled-up newspaper.

Lacking a sufficently large newspaper, possibly the death certificates and photographs of the 6,000 + dead from the WTC would suffice.

I assure you, if the Golden Gate gets dropped or the Trans-America Tower gets smacked by a 767, Berkleys Boneheads would not be humming "Cooombyeyah".

If we stop listening to the newsweenies yell FIRE for a second.  And we really think about what has happened. It doesn't look like much of a threat.

You had a handful of guys armed with box cutters and the element of surprise.  They did most of the damage.

If the anthrax thing had anything to do with the middle eastern terrorist, yet to be proven, they have only succeeded in killing one person.  Treatable disease doesn't really, sound like much of a threat.

They are not delivering their attacks in there own bombers.  They have been forced to use our totally manageable resources to deliver any attack.

With the element of surprise gone, I don't think they have toejam. At least no way to deliver it.

Now, three years from now, if we go back to sleep.  They might be able to inflict substantial casualties on us.  But I don't think the world is ending by a long shot.

Not to mention that it is hard to plan an attack when your dodging puff :)

LOL! I did chuckle when I heard they sent 'ol 'spooky' in.. if it's even half as scary as i remember; we'll be needing to drop almost as much hugahunk as we do food.

Easy.. aside from the rather important 'line' the terrorist use of bio-weapons in the U.S. crossed, the event in itself is a non-issue, at least as yet.. Its the stuff thats happening in the middle east region RIGHT NOW that's got me sittin up and taking notice.

It's all the lil things together, THERE; happening at an escalating pace that make it so damned mesmerizing. I've never seen anythin in history like this.. the stakes are fuggin HUGE; and the players that can impact it's outcome are, almost beyond belief, insignificant by themselves yet ominious in concert.

One or two unknown zealots can easily at this point spark a reaction that could within hours light up the whole region.

One or two more assinations... say Musarief or mubarak gets whacked; another 1 or 2 israli ministers.... *poof*

I wont deny that it is a powder keg.  But you have to consider what these people are armed with.  With the exception of the Israelis you have most of the armament being old soviet stuff.  And I doubt the Russians gave/sold their state of the art stuff at that.  The nukes, they might have, have to be delivered. And if they did. one or two dropped on a nhbor isn't going to end life as we know it.  The chances of them getting one into our country are about the same as the president being abducted by aliens.
