Finally watched the whole thing last weekend. What can I say? Wow. A gritty storyline, rather grim ending, grim humor, along with gritty and grim actors/acting  ;). All in all an excellent movie. Wish I'd seen all of it before. That hanging scene in the beginning - rather chilling. I'm glad I saw this one, and if any of you guys haven't, I strongly recommend you do.

The Dirty Dozen (parts 1 and 2) is a great war movie because of the actors in it...Telly Savalas, Charles Bronson, James Brown and Lee Marvin (my favorite).  Marvin strikes me as the ultimate personification of a battle hardened Army Major...coolheaded and able to handle anything that comes his way.  Gotta love it!  DD ranks high on my war movie list.

Yep, Dirty Dozen is a classic and I also would add, "Bridge over River Kwai", "The Great Escape", "Kelly's Heroes", and "Patton" as some of my favorites.
Just an incredible group of actors in all those movies.

Seen part of Bridge. I think you're right Skuzzy, the actors are really what makes a movie...

and Hangtime, what's the point? You have a problem send me a personal message.

Hang, I think I see the point.   :D
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Ahhh Me thinks you should look into this.

Hw was married twice I believe. Saw a Bio on AMC or Turner about him long after his death. There was no mention of him being gay.
