Didn't need beer or the debates to know about Gore.

Neither candidate appeals to me. Gore seems nasty and I've tried hard to like Bush but every time I see him I get the feeling that he's not the brightest bulb in the box.

Honestly, the only candidate that makes any sense to me is that Libertarian fella, Harry Browne.

Character, character, character... that is all you have to judge these two on. The rest is up to the administration each will choose to advise him on the issues. Do you think Clinton made any choices/decisions on his own these last 8 years other than what female to grope next in the Oral office? Put it this way, which one of these two guys would you rather have represent the morality of the country over the next 4 years? Gore the liar (admitted),cheat, stood behind a president convicted of perjury or Bush, the only Texas Gov to be re-elected for back to back terms based on his record. Bush isn't perfect, who the heck is, but he's head and shoulders above Gore.

Bush may stumble on some words every now and then, but that makes him no dumby. Good God the man has been govenor of the 2nd largest state in the USA since 1994. Of the 2 candidates he is the only one with executive experience. AND he was reelected by a strong majority    he HAS a record of bringing democrats and republicans here in Tx.  There's the insurance issue from the 2nd debate where Gore though he scored points saying there were so many people in Tx with out insurance. There may be, I'm one of them, but did Gore mention anything about our state healthcare system?  NO  You don't need insurance, we have LOT's of county hospitols where they base what you pay on how much money you earn.  I know this for fact because I had surgery on a ganglean cyst in my left wrist that cost me $0.00.  Guess what else, illegal aliens get the free medical care too

The one thing that disturbed me about the debate was the questions from the audience. They all seemed to be about what the government can do for "me".  Personaly I don't think there is very much the government can do FOR anybody, but there's a bunch that it does TO people.  I'd bet if you asked what the philosophical diference between a democrat and republican was, 75% of the country wouldn't be able to answer. That's DANGEROUS!!!

The media was funny this morning, all of them talking about how good Gore was. It's just that they forgot to mention that Gore broke the very rules that HE put into the debate, SOP if you ask me.  Not once in the last 3 weeks have they reported about the cold that Bush has had, ever try to talk on national TV with your head filled with antihistaments?

I wonder what Gore's gonna do when he's outa polotics?

I said this once and I'll say it again.....

GORE IS THE DUMBARSE NOT BUSH!!!!!!!!

 "No controling legal authority"
"campaing finance will be the first thing I do in my administration."

 2 quotes by Gore

Anybody else notice how many times Gore said, that will be the first thing I'll do in my administration?  Oh yeah, I wonder when the press is going to report about the new "scandal" about Gore and the president of Russia and a signed agreement from Gore to keep information from congress? HMMMMM? That's real presidential...

The man belongs in prison with Klinton, NOT in the white house...

Udie, you're one of the millions of media-fed cattle!

You know, we can argue the merits of  Bush and Gore until we're blue in the face but to me it's not the real issue. The real issue is why are we stuck debating the merits of these two losers?

Why aren't we discussing the merits of a dozen candidates?

I think one reason is that we have a heavily controlled media that won't give airplay to any other political parties. I'm hoping that the Internet will eventually provide a more equal playing field for future politicians. Otherwise the path this country is taking looks grim.

Blur, are you one of "those" voters who are going to waste your vote on Nader? Make it count at least, pick the lesser of these two evils and make a difference, at least be counted. On 2nd thought vote for Nader, it'll be one less vote for Gore

now that's funny! sorry bud I've been preaching against our media to all my friends for the last 7 yrs.
I've got a brain and I know how to use it

You know, we can argue the merits of  Bush and Gore until we're blue in the face but to me it's not the real issue. The real issue is why are we stuck debating the merits of these two losers?

There's no argument Gore has a record of which he's flip flopped on almost every issue in the 20+ years of his public "service", and a record or lies and desceat from the last 8 years. Bush on the other hand has succesfuly GOVERNED the 2nd largest state in the USA winning the respect of Republicans and Democrats alike. If he were allowed a 3rd term as govenor I bet he'd win with 80%

Why aren't we discussing the merits of a dozen candidates?

It's called the electorial proccess. Buchanan and Nader together garnish less than 5% in the polls, do you realy think they have a chance? with today's media?

I think one reason is that we have a heavily controlled media that won't give airplay to any other political parties.

No argument there, maybe they'd be higher in the polls if their messages were getting more media, especialy Buchanan.

I'm hoping that the Internet will eventually provide a more equal playing field for future politicians. Otherwise the path this country is taking looks grim.

I think the near future is grim already.  It's scarey to think what Klinton got away with in the last 8 years.  Who ever the next president is will be busy either fixing the problems or covering them up    either way I fear we're in for tough times, 8 years of denial has a way of letting big problems get bigger.

Udie,I couldn't agree more. I missed the debate but I heard that the audience was really, really lame.

I heard on the radio that one woman asked this question or something similar:

"What do each of you Presidential Candidates intend to do to hold the parents accountible for seeing that the children are doing their homework?"

If that is true, and that woman represents the average voter, the country could be in serious trouble. Especially if the general population really wants to be told what to do, and relieved of personal responsibility, and be given womb to tomb care by the government. Ughhh

This country is already changing fast.

We've got the President getting illicit blowjobs in the Oval office and encouraging improper use of tobbaco products (sorry  )

We've got the United States of America witholding financial support from the Boy Scouts of America because they prefer not to have gays as Scoutmasters.

We've got the Girl Scout leadership hanging onto thier Federal support by doing the opposite, allowing lesbians to be ScoutMasters, (probably to train the girls as "Shock Troops" for the future generation of hard core pro-choice feminists)

We've got an educational system that is becoming fourth rate, leaving thousands of kids behind because they aren't learning.

We've got a weakened Military in a dangerous world...

... and we've got pathological liars in the Whitehouse.

It is disturbing.
