Denholm's Wishlist (Me)
« on: April 27, 2006, 04:59:50 PM »
Alright, everyone should know Denholm is my callsign. But if you don't know, now you do. Anyways, lets get down to the niddy-gritty:

1. H2H Should be allowed to make it's own squadrons that are displayed in the Roster when the userID is in the Squadron.
2. H2H should also get a unique logging system so H2H Squadron CO's can check up on the amount of kills one of their squad mates landed. Cause writing it down on paper makes it TOO EASY for someone  to lie about what he landed. So, it would be nice if we had a special page where we can access scores and how many kills a UserID landed in H2H mode.
3. H2H needs to be able to upload different MOTDs for different countries. Example, you name the MOTD file: motdk.h2h and the knights are the ONLY ones who can see that particular MOTD. That way it would make scenarios more intresting!
4. We should get that "Show MOTD" button fixed. Cause re-logging to see an MOTD gets very old.

That's all i'm after.

1. H2H hosts do not go through the HTC server, so HTC cannot keep scores for what goes on in H2H servers. This is why Rank does not work in H2H.

2. Ditto

3. This isn't even available online. There is a Squad MOTD that individual squads can see but because squads do not work in H2H that wont work.

4. typing .show motd should work

When H2H starts paying the electric bills, you might get some wishes fulfilled.

Until then I doubt you'll see a dime spent on improving H2H.

What mosq said.

You guys bring in 0 revenue, yet you want stuff upgraded, changed, etc.

Sorry, isn't going to happen. H2H isn't played on HTC servers, its played on your computer. Thats partly why it has an 8 player limit. It can't be Front End and Server for a lot of people.

Online, if you join a squadron in an arena you have to exit the arena and come back in before that will update and show in the roster.

How do you expect that to work in H2H?

Squadron CO's for H2H, well I hear you loud & clear now. I was the XO of a squadron for a slightly diff game some 10 years ago. And yes we were H2H based.  We had 1/10 of the tools available to you now.

My advice, once a month run a squadron competition. Base advancement on results of that.  Can change every month from pure fighter vs fighter. To Bombing, rocket attacks, torp attacks, Ground Vehicles. It just takes some
old fashioned incentive, ingenuity, and inspiration.

No one else is going to do the work for you. You want to run a squadron, be prepared to work your tail off.

You want to know the secret to setting up the showmotd?

I used to be a Scenario/special events CM.

Start AH, start your H2H session.
Once your in, alt tab to windows. Find your showmotd. Edit it, save it, upload it. Alt tab back to AH.
Now everyone who comes in after you should see it.

Well, I know people connect to my computer directly to play in my H2H server. So why dont we make it to where when someone logs into your server. It makes a .txt log file on their, and your own computer. It would log kills landed and which plane was used (In other words, would copy the "Kill Message" after you tower out). That way it doesent require logging into an HTC Server.
