Rudder Pedals (a worthwhile purchse?)

Is it worth forking out cash on rudder pedals? I've been twist-sticking AH for two years. Is it worth learning a new flight control system? What are the pros and cons?

My head tells me no, my feet tell me yes.

my problem with twisty's is the rudder gets actuated as i moved the stick and or  I'd be losing E because of the twisty rudder ....

Now this cost me alot of fights .

W/ Peds i can control the input,, better gain in spiral climbs , maintain more E and actually win a few fights .

Go off line of to the TA and watch ur plane in f-3 mode  or watch ur films in f3 and see what happening to your rudder while going thru manuvers.

Dont bother if your not patience . I switched from a twisty to pedals after about 10 years of twisty and i can honestly say that the pedals have almost gone out the window on certain nights . I do see the promise of the pedals thou , thats what keeps me using them , well that and i paid too much money to back out now hehe . 38

This set has more travel , steadier pot responce  ... no spiking at all

if i curl my toes on the bar i can peddle one footed ....lol

the Bicycle head post and bearings make this set 1000 % smoother then my bushing set . (ver 1)

yes, get pedals
if you wait until fall / winter 06, you can see what saitek brings to the pedals table .. otherwise its the >$100 usb pro peds the rest of us have been using

lol ... come work at my shop cutting,weldin and gridin metal all day .. those are "Clean" compared to what they ussually are for just getting off work.

Saitek is coming out with their own set of pedals soon. They should be cheaper (both in price and quality) to ch pro-peds.

I bought the X52 from Saitek (didn't even realize CH was still around)

I didn't like the twisty stick rudder control so I remapped the stick.

1. Turned twisty stick rudder off
2. Mapped rudder control to the X52 throttle
3. Mapped throttle control to the X52 thumb slide
4. Reversed the action of the slide and throttle controls (seems more natural this way)

I now have very fine rudder control and have no issues with throttle control using the slide. It works well in ground vehicles as well.

P.S. Those Saitek peds are going to be just as expensive as CH peds. It's better to wait and see what the review say, but not to wait for the lower priced set to show up (because it won't be lower priced!)
