I hardly believe we are far superior. I have complete respect for most UK countires and others. I was simply defending the U.S. as you were defending yours from ebing slagged. And I remeber your statement about Vietnam dragging it down, I merely joined you.

And you might as well add the first attack on the trade center. That would make it 4-0 on your scorecard.

Speaking as a Canuck, I would like to think we can poke fun at ourselves and have a good laugh. I saw nothing "sinister" in the original post, just some good natured elbow ribbing.

As for the all-too-predictable-crap that follows, about 1812, the BoB, Vietnam, 9-11, blah blah blah, its sad. All of it.

Stop firing stupid, cheap shots at each other, its embarrasing to read it.

What the flying f*** what country burnt down the WH 200 frakin years ago vs the Vietnam war? vs the Revolutionary War? vs WW2?

Read some books, and learn to get along.

P.S. I will add my own geo-political "quip" before leaving.

Currently the USA, Canada, and the UK are all involved in operations together in Iraq and Afghanistan, and perhaps other places we don't know, and are dying in the field as we write this s***.

holy crap when is this thread going to be locked. Truth about WWII is that everyone on the Allied side played a vital role and saying that one was more important than the other is just silly overenthusiastic nationalism. I just went to Duxford last week and saw the Battle of Britain and US 8th Air Force museums there. You can tell that the British are very proud of the fact that they were able to stand up against Germany when everyone before them failed. Economically they had a lot of help from us, but they did all the fighting and dying during the Battle of Britain. My hats off to them. At the same time, the notion that they could have defeated the Germans alone and marched all the way to Berlin is a bunch of crap. It was certainly the combined strength of all the allies that won the war.

As for the AL Qaeda stuff...I don’t think having a scoreboard is very funny. Terrorism isn’t just an American problem. You think you’re immune to some crazy retard blowing himself up in a shopping mall or on a bus? Britain has always had a problem with terrorism in the past with the IRA, and of course most recently last year with the bombings. Last time I looked Britain had a bunch of soldiers in Iraq as well. When I was in London last week, the big news was Prince Harry wanting to go and fight in Iraq. England and the US are not at all that much different. Out of all the places in Europe I went to, I felt the most welcomed and the most at home in England. I really do think this "whose got the bigger wang?" argument is rather stupid and pointless.

i was just annoyed that some retard came along and completely disregarded all the efforts of britain during the early years, claiming that it was america that won the BoB. THAT makes me very angry. but no doubt that america were our shining stars, we couldnt of done it without you:aok

really, we're great allies as countries, and even more friendly on a personal level. nothing we brits like more than to see a nice, polite american tourist, so we can rip them off;)

OK, so as far as WWII goes then....

The UK and France lost the "Battle of France"
The UK won the "Battle of Britain"
The UK, Canucks and US won the "Battle of Normandy" and pushed on through to Germany.
The USSR won Moscow, Stalingrad, Kursk, and all the way to Berlin.

Thats Europe. The Pacific is another story.

You know when I started reading this I thought I was gonna get a good joke about Canada but to my amazment it went far beyond that. Being ex military and extremly patriotic I could slam anyone and everyone who has negitive feelings, comments, or thoughts about the US of A...but you know what......I realized that some of these comments may be coming from kids (younger then 25) that has never seen war up close and personal or volunteered for duty to serve your country that may put your life in risk. Well I have and let me say none of you have any clue what your talking about unless you ever did.

I could rant on about my wife's grandparents who live in Germany and was there during WWII. Her mothers father that was at D-day and was taken prisoner. Or about her fathers father that was a SS tank commander on the Russian front whom she never met since he was killed there.

How about my Grandfather who served in the pacific as a seabee. Or my Uncles who fought in Vietnam, or my Dad who also volunteered for vietnam but was sent to Germany instead. You think that went over well at family reunions.

How about having a direct decendant ( Samual Fuller) who came over on the Mayflower and actually has a house in Plymouth Plantations reservation area.

After writting this I realized it probably doesnt matter and not really fitting for this forum but I had to write it all the same.
