Stupid TV Home Survey
« on: May 01, 2006, 07:00:33 PM »
Just curious:  I’m sure that I could Google this info much faster, but the AH BBS is due for a stupid poll anyway:

How many TV sets are in your home and in what rooms?  (Plugged in, ready to use any second.)

Also, how many hours do you watch each day or week?

Mine = 5 : living room, porch, garage, guest room, craft room.

I probably actively watch less than an hour a day on the average.  I hear it behind me as I dork around on the puter another hour or two each day as my kids or wife watch their stuff.

Here at school we have two TVs in the apartment. One is hooked up to cable, the other is set aside for PS2 and Gamecube.

At home we have 3. One in the family room, one in the basement and one in my room. I rarely use mine though, its just there because I watch movies on it or if I'm feeling dangerous, hook my computer up to it and play AH2 on 32 inches!

modern times make this a bit difficult to accurately quantify.
i got 1 TV, but i haven't turned it on today.
however i did watch some crap on my laptop for ~ an hour over dinner.
does that count?

Two. One in living room. Other in family room.

Hours a week for me... five or six. Unless there's hockey, then add another 2.5 hours per.

5 TVs, 1 - 32" Living room, 1 - Family Room 27", 1 - my bedroom 27", 1 - 13" son's room.  1- 13" not being used right now (about 25 years old)
3 DVRs.

Me personally I only watch about 10 - 15 hours a week, depends if theres a movie I want to see, or if I find anything interesting otherwise I'll read a book or play

The living room one is never turned off.

At first I thought I would miss television.  But soon I found out that I really didn't.

1 Tv, in the living room/office/shipping dept.

It's on all day, news or history channel... it's background noise. I got no stereo. Occasionaly something catches my attention, my head comes up outta the computer or I step outta weld shop and stare at the thing in slack jawed awe at "the breaking news from washington".

It's a good thing it's a 28" 10 year old fishtank. I doubt any fancy new flat screen digital would survive the things I throw at blitzer or that grapefruit sheppard smith.

Nice large console here in my office, hooked to a VCR to watch movies when I want, not connected to cable.

Good sized monitor in the Family Room, hooked to DVD, no cable connect.  Movie Nights only.

TV in the bedroom for falling asleep.

Daughter has one for Disney Channell in her room, treat for doing very well in school.  Only had to be unplugged twice.

One in my Van so we can watch a DVD while on the road trips.

Don't watch "tv" per se.  Can't stand the drivel that's on or the inane blather of commercials..  I watch movies, get my news from net or paper, watching what I want when I want.  All the news channells have live feeds anyway.

one 13inch TV/VHS  combo ….VHS doesn’t work anymore, and something is wrong with electronics of it since time constantly changes randomly. I keep it on for noise mostly while my computer is on, I watch maybe 5 hours a week.
