« on: May 02, 2006, 02:48:50 PM »
Hey guys,

Because of the lack of Canadian skins for Canadians like me, I ask that anyone who would like to help me please post here cause im starting up a project to make a Canadian sound pack and skins pack, hopefully the HT Team will let some of the skins threw cause we lack canadian ones. Anyone is welcome to help but if your Canadian please state in your post. I don't care much about countries as this is a skinner team not a Country squad. If you have MSN and wanna PM me it go ahead my MSN is christopheru_556@hotmail.com

I hope a full people wanna help I want to make atleast one skin per aircraft that were flown by Canadians in WW2, starting with Spits working our way up the list. Everyone will be assigned to help or work single handedly on a plane.

Kind Regards,

Viper

I wonder what Canadian markings on a 109 would look like?

I might be interested, but I'd like to have you put a list of aircraft involved up first. Then I'd be able to look at the list and say to myself "Hmm... that one might be interesting".

Well Krusty, im starting with the real ones, Spits, then moving on from there anything that was actually used, then we will start the 109s and stuff that they didn't ever use.

Others in game -
Mossie "Hairless Joe"
Spit V - YO*A - 401 Sqn RCAF (one with the boobies on the side)

Finished awaiting approval
XVI (LF IXe) flown by Johnnie Johnson while he was with 144 Wing.

Still being done
Spit V "City of Winnipeg" with invasion stripes of 402 Sqn RCAF.

Maybe
Spit IX, Johnson again , the one with the green maple leaf on the side.

Kev, how about a Spit VII skin for the Spit VIII? They are externally identical and there are some nice ones to do.

Many reverted to standard tips.

This is the "City of Winnipeg" 402 Sqn RCAF Spit V thats all but finished.

Just waiting on confirmation the D-Day stripes were in the position according to profile. Dan is looking around.

This one has been sent in - Johnnie Johnsons "The Beer Wagon" while he was with 144 Wing

Just an FYI: HTC won't accept those. They have to be historic skins. You can't have Japanese markings on a P51, or British markings on a Fw190, for example. They won't allow them.

My second ever skin was an F4U-1D of 1841 Sqn Fleet Air Arm. While technically British, this aircraft was flown by a Canadian, Lt Robert Gray VC. The default Spit 16 is also Canadian.

Thats because Royal Canadian Navy pilots who flew with the Fleet Air Arm (Royal Navy) were assigned to regular Royal Navy sqaudrons. The FAA had RCN, RCNVR, RN and RNVR crews.

Lt. Gray was assigned to 1841 Sqn as a Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve pilot.
