Look again skuzzy... According to the article, it's more of an a-la-carte computer menu at the build your own burrito...er... computer counter. They're going away from the pure pre-built cheapo computer and trying to add in the ability to choose the components that can actually do the intended job. With Wal-Mart's pricing model and purchasing power, I bet they'll be able to offer fairly decent OEM hardware at competitive prices.
Heck, if I could go to a wal-mart and get quality components assembled and warranteed at the typical wal-mart prices (5-10% below competitor price), I'd consider it. Almost every nvidia card is made equal, regardless of who's name brand is stamped on the HSF cover, so a wal-mart 6800GS isn't going to be any worse than anyone else's 6800GS.
