Haha, yeah I know. Problem is that the work is voluntary and I usually have a full plate. Games that are sent to us have priority over games that we play "for fun". I do plan on doing an AH2 review once I have the free time in my schedule.

Notice that we don't have IL2 or Warbirds or WWIIOL up there.

Problem with reviewing certain games is that they can go through many updates and I feel that it isn't fair sometimes to base a game on its early inception. If I had reviewed AH2 before the re-done cockpits it would have been different than reviewing it now with the updated cockpits.

A Rook who first flew 09/26/03 at the age of 13, has been a GL in 10+ Scenarios, and was two-time Points and First Annual 68KO Cup winner of the AH Extreme Air Racing League.

I don't think that a lot of ten year olds watch the History or Military channel BUT those ten year olds sure do watch their parents and relatives play AH,  then want to play themselves.

Kids LOVE games like AH when they see it played and these little kids are a lot brighter than some give them credit for. My neice years ago ( she's 18 now) used to sit on my lap and play AW when she was 8. She LOVED AW.

I have a nephew who is playing now and he's 10. He types better than I do and people don't usually realise he's just a kid unless they hear him on vox.

He's also gotton very interested in military aircraft because of AH. I asked him if he liked the new jet fighters, but he pretty much is into WWII aircraft.

If we never allowed new and young players to AH2, then it'd die.

Helping the younger ones out is like being a parent, expect to get mad but there is nothing better than watching a pilot you taught and guided start racking up kills and getting salutes.

Well, I'm doing my part.  I talked AH up to 3 guys I work with, and 1 or 2 of them actually downloaded and installed it.  Of course the one guy I work most closely with can't get his joystick working right (it appears to be spiking uncontrollably which results in immediate stick-stirring warnings) but he has enough cash to buy a new stick so maybe he'll keep trying.

Of course, I keep the karmic balance going by telling noobs that the answer to all their questions is to use the secret key combination "alt-f4", which brings up the help file interface...  It's not EXACTLY a lie...
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

The only thing wrong with newbie kids is they bypass the TA and go straight to the MA. "How do I start my engine?", "How do I takeoff?" and "How do I drop bombs?" are some of my favs.
Maybe you could put together a quick tutorial vid or just force 2 weekers to log an hour in the TA before gaining access to the MA.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Of course they do, every male child 10-99 glamorizes guns and killing. Just read the o-club topics.
