I am getting CH pro pedals! I have a x45 stick.
from wha tI read and understand here is that they will greatly
improve your aiming and flying abilities!
I am a terrible shot or too impatience!!

Bandit, i've flown off and on for gosh it's been (gulp) 8 or 9 years. Though I've never owned pedals, I have read on the boards there's a learning curve. "Patience" might be the watchword.

Good luck with them, and when I get some, you can show me what's what.

I have read some people that totally would never be without them!
But, yet like yourself, and you probably have a top rating, dont use them!

I know using the x45 stick the rudder control is on the throttle. any which way you adjust the deadbands and calibrate the stick it still isnt a smooth rudder control.

I now fly with the X52, and went for about 1 1/2 years with X45 before got pedals. The transition was easy for me, maybe becasue I didnt use rudder that much before, since the rocker input on the 45 was so VERY clunky and imprecise. (I cant use twisty sticks since I ALWAYS end up inputting rudder accidently when I fly --)

I think you'll love the CH pedals. Pay attention to the neutral point, becasue it is easy to "press on the floorboards" in combat. It takes a fine touch, but timed gentle inputs (which are much easier with pedals) can dramatically help concentrate your gunfire on a specific point when you do passing shots

simaril hit it on the nose.being a pilot the pedals are much more natural for me than the twisty. be patient.hit the TA and play follow the leader with dweebs like myself.S~ brick31

lol Bandit. I are a dweeb and haven't flown much at all over the past couple of years. But thank-you nonetheless.

I too have heard the same reports you've heard, and I believe them to be true.

Looks like I'll be flying again soon. And if I stick with it, I'll prob join you as a proud rudder pedal owner.

Yep peds are the best option - I always hated the twisty when I am pushing or pulling to one of the corners and need to twist in some rudder. Was always hard to do. Your wrists will thank you. Make sure you set the Dead band and damp for your tastes so that as sim pointed out, your not holding rudder just because of how you are resting your feet.

I went though this pedal learning curve , it's a ***** IMO , after being a fair shot to being not able to hit much .

This learning tip worked for me .

Use the AH drones ,

Get the vertical postion right first , the one u use with your joystick .

THEN move your rudder over to lead the drone . After a few k hours you will be doing snap shots just like that

Pedals when you diving are really nice , just stomp in full rudder and dive that spit or P38 for the deck and not lock up your elev control , easeily done with peds .

Gl and don't give up , it gets better alot better with time

A good exercise when you get them is spending a fair amount of seat time in attack mode straffing vehicles, ack, small objects, ect. You can really use them to make minor adjustments to line up on the target, and it helps develop your (lol) foot-eye cooridination.

The number 1 thing to remember when flying with your CH Pedals is...

TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF.

Socks or bare feet and you can really finesse 'em. Shoes make them just as clunky as anything else... but a bare toe can really hurt people...

I also recommend flying in pajamas, but thats just me... Everyone who owns CH pedals knows you fly barefoot.

I hope you got the Pro Pedals, I don't know if they still make the standard pedals, but the Pro's are far superior in every way.

Excellent advice.... I always fly in socks because you have a much better feel for the pedals.

Hey Murdr, how do you have your pedals set? Mine are set like this....

but I get a bit of a "snapping" action. Its not very smooth and makes those rudder gun passes a real pain. I allways thought it was due to me using old analog pedals that it wasn't very smooth, but if ya got a few tips I'm willing to give them a try
