Are you getting that error on the client when trying to install the drivers from the print server?  If so, try taking the CD over the client, install the drivers from it, instead of over the network.

I am guessing a bit ramzey as I am not I understand your configuration.

No Roy, its stand alone PC of my friend, no network attached yeat
He says it was working som time ago but now is not, so he hook up himself to the router of his father in law network (he had a office at his home) and use printer over the local  network.
Now this PC is stand alone, i tried to install printer drivers but every time i get error at the end of installation.
I never use win2000, so not much knowlage about this system.
I can suspect its something with USB? BUt it was only one divice connected to USB ports, so its not power issue.

Im going to hook up this PC to wireless router  and i can get small home network  and connect printer to other PC, but thats not solution for this problem.

edit:
at printers foldr he have fax  and adobe distiler intalled, but i cant get properties of this devices from there

1st beshure your in Admin control of w2k and not in a limited user logon.

next go to control panel/ printers    or start /settings/ printer

go to add printer  .... in there there should be a box that it gets to with the listed options
com 1
com 2
usb 1
usb 2

..........ect ect ect ..

in the listing set it up for what ever usb port its on.  go thru the rest install then reboot .. it should pick up the printer then . you may have to load the drivers manually (i had to for my Z-11 printer on w2k pro)

I think i had to toggle my printer off then on to get it to fire off too .
