Anyone playing America's Army?
« on: May 10, 2006, 07:11:51 AM »
Hi everyone,

Some folks here recently turned me on to America's Army.  Who all is playinig that game here?  Do you use Teamspeak?  Thanks...looking for folks that might play in an organized fashion instead of the random quake/doom folks.

Regards,

:)

Rude plays all the time, same handle there.

I play now and then when the hordes rule the MA and there's no fightertown.

I play it too occasionally. The biggest problem is abusers who either plain hack or exploit bugs. Punkbuster caught up with the worst of them after months of battle, but it's fighting a losing battle unfortunately.

To make things worse, players caught hacking are not permanently banned. 5 mins and they can join and try something else again.

Since I don't fly anymore I play there alot.  I even joined up with a clan, great bunch of guys.  PAWG clan server 1 is mostly on SF hospital as I am a hospital potato.  We have a second server that we rotate maps.  The biggest thing I like about the squad and the server is that every full member is an admin.  There's allways an admin on enfocring the rules and we do enforce them (no nurse camping, no bunny hopping, no early spam nades ect)  You don't have the usual BS that you see on alot of other servers.

Stop by sometime and say hi IP 66.55.158.15 or look for it as Pissed Americans With Guns.

Gunslinger.....

Do you guys have a website?

I am interested in playing with folks that work COOPERATIVELY...the way the game should be played in my opinion....I also think that a team using Teamspeak would be 100% MORE effective in the game.

I'd love to give you guys a looksee.......

I am guttboyTG12 on yahoo if you see me on.

Look forward to seeing you guys.

Regards,

Mike

PS....how is the house doing?  You survive the killer storms we had the past week?  A buddy of mine in Schertz had his van really messed up as his wife was caught on I35 when the storm hit....looks like someone took a ball peen hammer to the entire vehicle!

Planting 203s inside that far door is fun.

I'm up for some AA: fanofhockey at gmail I used to game with the USMC Warriors, military guys great fun.

I'm not into the "run, jump, die" plan though.. I'll take my sweet time despite the "camper" cries.

http://www.pawgclan.com  Our TS is exclusive.  It was public until it got hacked.  Visit the site and register at the forums.  Play regularly on the server for a week or so then ask for an invite to the TS VIA the forums.  Tell them you know me.

As far as the gameplay goes we don't set up a game plan.  We've all been playing long enough that usually we know what the VIP is doing before the round and adjust accordingly.  We announce "E's" when we see them and ask for help when we need it.

The storms were cool.  The last one that happened last week around 5PM (the one that cause a bunch of hail) missed us by less then a mile.  It was raining on the other side of 1604 but not in my neighborhood.  We had a pretty cool storm later that night though.  Coming from the desert all this rain is pretty is nice.  I think we are the only ones here that get excited when the weatherman mentions rain.

OTHO the humidity this week has completly kicked my but.  We ran 4 miles this morning at 5AM.  It was 85 with about 80% humidity.  All last week we where outside practicing drill on the drill pad ALL FREAKIN DAY.

The house is coming along fine.  With my hours I've given my wife alot of lattitude as far as what she wants to do with it.  I need to get my lawnmower fixed as my lawn is heinous and the weed eater just doesnt cut it.

our server has the contraversial "no nades until 30 seconds have passed" rule.  Personally I like it.  It's not realistic to know where your enemys are going to be at the exact second they are going to be there so it adds more "fun" to the game play.  It also eliminates getting killed 15 seconds into the round by a 203 shot that would never be humanly possible.   As far as camping goes.  Some of our guys whine about it but either way it's a tactic.

I think i'm gonna log in for a bit.

Love that game, but there are SOOOOoo many cheating lil punks there (i.e., using dead guys to tell them via teamspeak where nmy's are, etc.)
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

That's one thing we don't tolerate on our own TS.  You can usually tell when another squad is doing it and we end up just kicking all of them.  It's funny how many people complain about our server rules yet our server is ALLWAYS packed (all 26 slots)

Yup and it's worth it too.

For $4.99 a month I get:

1.  TWO kick bellybutton servers to play on (both usually cheat and noob free)
2.  Full admin rights to both of them (I can kick any player that violates the rules or acts a fool in the server)
3.  TS account
4.  A GARUNTEED spot on either server when ever I want it.  I don't have to sit and wait for somone to leave the server in order to play on it.
5.  I don't get kicked for TKs or anything for that matter (can't kick an admin)
6.  Some really good friends and a good squad to play with.

You'll find that most clans/clan servers are this way.  For a decent 26 slot one they usually run over $100 a month.  I used to spend Half my time trying to find a decent server to play on.  Once I was there, there was no garuntee that it was a good server or that I'd stay very long.

as far as the AA forum goes, I don't know what to tell you.  I browse there but never post.  http://aaotracker.com is a really good site.  It will track you and keep your stats as well.  They also have a pretty decent forum.
