Just make sure you get Vicodin. It kept the pain level down for me when I had my right knee scoped. But after the first day it's doable. Heck, I got married eight days after the surgery. Boy, that cane came in handy at the altar.

Actually, I was shaking so bad up there that, surgery or not, that cane kept me standing
