Back from the Nokia press party, like a few hours ago...nice stuff they have planned.

Talked to some developers, publishers, and models. They handed out some cool goodies, including an MP3 player styledafterone of their phones.

Actually no one under the age of 18 is allowed, including infants!

I just got back from the convention and we're exhausted. SOme of our boys played the Nintendo Wii and said its going to be a winner.

As for me visiting Saitek and checking out the rudder pedals, I was impressed. I didn't check out the middle light part but from reading the specs, you can adjust the tension of the rudder pedals, and I figure its from that point. THe shoes are adjustable for smaller or bigger feet.

Saw some "TBD"s as well. They have a pair of headphones with a boom mike. They vibrate with the sound and I tried it out on FS2004 and lets just say EARGASM!!

Last day is tomorrow, so, I'll try and tell you guys more, I love the hardware section in E3:aok

Got to get my grubby hands on the Wii and was surprised by the potential of the Wii with its controllers.  That is the thing that could make the Wii a true revolutionary console provided how well it is supported by games and not just become another gimmick.  Got to play on the PS3 as well though not with the new controllers that are motion capable.

My favorite part of the show was watching Fata1ity totally own in Quake4...it was amazing. I wish I could make 6 figures playing video games. PS3 seemed awesome, but did you guys notice that pretty much every game they had on display had dismal up close texturing?? I know the games were all in development, so I will withold my judgement for now.

The line for Wii was way too long so I said F it. =\   I kinda regret it, but I only had one day at the show so I had to skip it.

I've been there.

If you're looking for some kick'n local mexican food near the expo, King Taco at Soto & Cezar Chavez (S/E corner). Order the "Red sauce" if youre feeling brave.

..if you're not from the LA area there's 1 thing to stress about being in that area after dark, Avoid 5th street (a few blocks east), AKA "The Nickle". The sidewalk has hepatitis...

Video game "booth babes" forced to cover up By Daisuke Wakabayashi
Thu May 11, 9:45 AM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Missing: scantily-clad females hawking the latest in electronic toys for the boys.

The video game industry's annual trade show in Los Angeles opened its doors to its exhibitors on Wednesday with organizers ordering women staffing the booths to cover up or face a $5,000 fine.

Banned are nudity, partial nudity, bikini bottoms or any sexually explicit or provocative conduct, according to the handbook from The Entertainment Software Association, or ESA, which owns and operates the E3 Expo.
:( :cry

isn't the gaming industry already too "geeky" full of 34 year old virgins that they have to take away any sence of women there? :furious

I wouldn't necessarily say they were forced to "cover up" because if anyone got lucky to see one of the Tecmo Extreme girls bend over would attest to that.  There was how ever a sharp decline in the number of booth babes this year over previous years.  Most of the hotties were the girls that were at the door passing out free shwag, like the Gamespot girls.

After hour parties though still rock, saw MC Mike perform last night at one of them.

I'm back home, well, been back. Came home, put my bags down and passed out. Woke up this morning at noon.

Due to time, I wasn't able to put my articles on the site, but I'll give you previews of the big ones you want to hear about, CH and Saitek:

CH has plans for something new in the future. They wouldn't release it yet, but it could be anything now that they have covered joysticks, yokes, throttle quadrants and rudders. I asked them if they are considering making a joystick that has a retro WWII look and feel to it and.......................... ............................. ............................. ............................. ......................

it has come up and talked about and its a consideration. Imagine flying a WWII game with a CH WWII joystick!

Saitek has a new keyboard coming up, as well as a command keypad that is pretty cool, great for RPGs or RTS. Their rudder pedals are looking good, even though the price is a tad high. Their vibrating headphones, styled like a pair of aviation headphones with a boom mike, are TBD and not concrete if it will be released.

Flight Simulator X looked great, the cockpits keep looking cooler and cooler. The demo they had was a sailplane in the grand canyon flying through rings.

Some photos:

Me with some of the booth babes that were "protesting".

CH's booth, their press kit has 3 of my reviews in it, I was pumped!

Me holding the .50 cal sniper rifle...the big guy is 30 lbs EMPTY. The soldiers definitely loved it when some of the people couldn't hold it.

hehe Sigma.. I took the same picture with that guy with the Rifle.
I couldn’t believe how heavy that thing was. I asked him if it was only meant for vehicles and he just smiled at me. I think he liked it too much in that gillie suit.

Heres a crappy poloroid scan..

So, Sigma, what about the Saitek pedals? You just said you were impressed... a positive impression? Can you compare them with CH pedals? Be ready I'll stress you! :D
