Kill questions
« on: May 11, 2006, 09:44:15 PM »
Sorry to keep posting here guys, but I want to get a handle on things.
Tonight I got my first kill, got killed several times trying to defend a field under attack (I know, dumb, but I did it anyhow) then ended up taking out a flight of bombers.  My question is how do I see what actually happened?  Is there some sort of flight log showing whom did what to whom? If there is, how do I find it???  Any help will be appreciated, for sure!

Yes and no...you do know who kills you when you die. However, you can finid out just what type of plane killed you and what type plane you killed in the score section list above under community. The "view kill stats in an expanded format (IE only)" is currently working and will give you that information.

Hope this helps.

ALT-R will record everything for later review.

This key combo makes a film viewer file that you can watch later to critique yourself and others.

yup, sounds like what you want is to be able to see what happened in the fight correct?

best way to do this is to press alt-r before the fight, or whatever you want to record. once the fight is over press alt-r again to stop recording. you will be able to tell if you are recording or not as there is a red R in the top left of the screen while you are recording. alkl these films that you record are stored in your c/program files/HTC/aces high II/films folder.

you need to select to open them with the AH2 film viewer for the fist time i think, so just right click on the file and select open with.

these films aren't actually 'films' but they record all the apects of you plane and the enemy, recording speed positions and such, which means that you can watch what happened from many different angles, you can slow down time to see it better, and even sit in the other guy's plane and watch it from his view

this is a VERY good tip if you want to learn to dogfight well. try to record most fights, and delete the useless films, but it enables you to watch what the other guy does, so if someone pulls a mad move on you and you end up dead before you realise what's going on, you can watch the film and see the action from many different aspects:aok

good luck, hope that helped, and wtg on that first kill!:aok

i still remember mine, launched a rocket from a p38l into a spit at about 40 yrds rofl

The AH2 film viewer is also found in your HTC program folder.
