A Spanish question
« on: August 16, 2001, 06:19:00 AM »
Hôla Amigos!
(that's the end of my Spanish...).

My parents have moved to Spain, in the Alicante region, and I'd like to get them on the net. I've sent them down one of my old P.C.'s, but as two old English wrinklies they're very unsure of the Spanish market.

Is ASDL available in Spain, and does any one have recommendations for an ISP?

If not, is ISDN available, and again, any recomendations for an ISP?

Thanks a lot for your help  :)

Thanks RAM.

It's important to my old folks that they can use the phone and 'net together, so it has to be ASDL or ISDN.

Does that ISP offer ISDN?

I think that the only ISP that offers ISDN (called RDSI in Spain) and ASDL is Telefónica. The others only offer 56k and cable (a good option too).

Greets Seeker,

I think the best option for them is to get ADSL, it's only 6500 ptas per month + taxes (rough total of $35) and it's being offered by 2-3 companies now: Telefonica, Wanadoo, and -I think- Retevision.

Connection is pretty good most of the time, and it averages 230kbps downlink and 120kbps uplink.

If you need more information, just ask!
