Flipping, Looping, Bombers, and crews
« on: May 13, 2006, 03:53:47 PM »
While i think its hilarious to watch some buff drivers do these outrageous moves, AND still keep there drones, i also think that it shouldn't be possible.

Now, if you have a single b24 for instance, and just a pilot doing a demo in front of a crowd, even then im not sure of its capabilities..
But tell me how a fully loaded b-24 with drones, and crews in each of these, can pull off these maneuvers, drop ord on target, then switch back to tail gun position and blow an enemy to bits.

Seriously, wouldn't the bombadier, gunners, go flying across the floor, or slam into the roof when inverted, possibly breaking limbs, or impaling themselves on something, or even flying out the gunner window?

Would be funny if in memphis bell they had this commentary.
"And when the flak stops, that means fighters.  Here's one now, at 12 o'clock, and all we see is a dot on the horizon. But he is easy to dispose of as all 800 b17's go into a high yo yo, then hammerhead, then immelman. Now, bombs away as we come over the target. Despite all the gunners vomitting on eachother they have no problem targeting and taking down that foolish german pilot who thought he could mess with our flying fotress's."

I was going to make another post for this, but decided to put it here instead.
I think it would be cool to have the buff drivers be responsible for all of its crew. So if for instance there is an 8 man crew you would have to bail each one out, or they would be counted as some kind of death against you in your bomber score. I think its kind of wierd that when i'm flying and suppose the lead plane is on fire, i just bail out, and still have two birds left. Even though its a game, i still think.. well ok the plane is going down, but all those guys could have bailed.
Maybe it's a stupid idea, i don't know?

I'll agree, dive bombing Lanc's & B17's have been a sore spot with many people for a long time.

The gunnery, number of planes controlled and defended by a single player, ord load, fuel duration, and ability to run at full power under any conditions, at any alt, without any of the limitations or hinderances faced by actual crews in normal flight make bombers a weapon in the game that is tailored to the newer, relatively inexperienced players.

It pains me to say it, but it's just not going to change.

If it has a bomb site, then it should not be allowed to dive bomb.

Well, if it has a dive drake, might as well give him a dive hen. Then they can have a dive family.
