Ok I have a DVD driver in my computer..

Is there a way to tell if it's capable of writing or not?

And how can I format an +RW disc so I can put the DVD I made onto it?

I recorded my entire graduation..

on the front of the drive itself, if it says dvd-rom then no, you cant burn dvds. If it says, dvd-rw or dvd+r etc., then yes you can.

As far as formating it, i would just use nero or whatever came with it.

here's  a useful page if you're making DVDs to send to others.

it tells you what DVDs a specific brand of player will play.

some will only play +R's  some -R's  and others are picky about what brand of disc of a certain type will play.

it can save you a lot of time, disks and postage wasted on sending people disks they can't watch.

btw, if your dvd player is on the list as being able to read mp3's.  you can burn a disc with a few hundred albums on it and use your suround sound system as a really nice jukebox-type player.
