Congratulations!  And you have my sympathy as well!  :D

I can say that after raising 4 of the rug-rats (2 girls, 2 boys).

One truism for either sex;  They are a pain in the tush after they hit 12.

And if you are lucky, they will return to human being status, after they are 21.

Congratulations Dad. Now in a few short years youwill need the "rules for dating a daughter".  :t
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

The understatment of the year.
LOL just  you wait.

You will be viewed like a god. and she will make you feel like one.

Wait till you hear her say something like "Just give it to my dad. he can fix it. He can fix anything.'

And "daddy will you get me some Ice cream please?"

and your about to say no. then you look into her eyes looking up at you and you say "sure" forget the fact your out of ice cream There is a driving rainstorm outside and you were just getting ready to relax for the night.

your gonna get dressed. go out in that driving rainstorm get soaked going into the store, get soaked again comming out of the store bring the ice cream home, get soaked again going from the car to the house.
and your not going to mind any of this.

cause nothing is too good for your little girl.
Aint a better feeling in the worlld either.

Now take into account this is all comming from someone who didnt want kids. and used to say didnt like kids.
In fact my half joking saying used to be.
"Dont want kids, dont like kids. in fact I dont like kids so much that as a kid not only didnt I like other kids. but I didnt even like myself"

Oh and the things they say

Not 2 minutes ago my wife walks in with a report on a book my daughte had to read in school. they wanted an opinion on the story.
Now keep in mind this is from a 9 year old.

"The problem with this story is it wasnt engaging. It didnt feel like I was biting into my grandmas rice and wanted more."

LMAO
