Songs from tape
« on: May 23, 2006, 11:27:50 PM »
The other night, I created a post with a about 9 links to some songs I made way back when on some cassette-based mutlitrack junk.

I deleted the post right away, cause the mp3's didn't all work right.

Here is one of my whiney-voiced songs that did d/l okay.

happy as i am

I love music. I'm drunk. I have maybe 100 more "songs"

:D

Okay, more beer and more bravery.

Here's some more music I taped in the 80's.

Sirloin sent me a file of him and his buddy on drums and bass....I added acoustic and some vocals for a stab at the song. It's from this year.

anyway:

I dont know about anyone else.
But I'd say the three of you have a band

You "ring"

:aok

Try Nobody Cares as either a trio or with a female singer

Your voice just doesnt seem to fit that one well. No offence

Same thing with the chorus portion of Give it up. ( trio)
You seem to be reaching to hard for those higher notes

Or try singing more from the dyaphram and less from the back of your throat

the other stuff where you used multiple voices sounds great though.
May keep em myself

These songs are at least 16 years old  ;)

Sirloin's song was last year.

Well WTF you doing sitting around for 16 years?

for the last 16 years the vast majority of the music industry has been putting out crap music with a gem sprinkled here and there.

And no I dont consider someone SCREAMING into a microphone from the beginning to the end of a song, "music" No matter how good the instumentals sound

You got IMO a good friggen sound there.

Do something with it

BTW the link in your first post dont work "Page not found"

Consider this post a high compliment from me
And a boot in the butt.
which everyone needs form time to time ;)

I agree with Dred, very good sound.  My friend is in a band where the "singer" has "lyrics" of course it sounds like he is trying to rip his vocal cords apart from the inside out rather then sing.  I told him it wasn't quite good and he understandably got mad, but damn.  At least you could understand some of Nirvana's lyrics.

My decision, I think you need to start sending out demos:aok

Wonder how mad he's gonna be when in 5-10 years he barely has a voice to say hello.

All that screaming cant be good for ya

They have sprays that are supposed to protect your vocal cords.  Unfortunately I don't think they will do anything for the amount of sheer screaming he does, maybe they will, im not sure.  I can get you the website and show you.  The only thing they have is energy.  Maybe he'll start smoking to give his screaming that smoky overtone too!

Good stuff, Nuke. We've shared a couple of emails about your songs so you already know that I think that you're very talented.

This inspired me to dig up a couple of songs...

The first one is just a typical heavier rockin' thing.

This one started out as a sort of spoof or mimicking of Mowtown stuff, repleat with the b-a-b-y fromage lyrics, but it ended up being kind of suprising.

The second song wouldn't load for me.

Wow! That first one sounds awesome.....very polished. That mix is just as good as anything on the radio.

Good singing, playing and mixing, Nash. Very good!

Okay, the second one loaded. Very nice! Where did you record those? The drums are sweet.

You are very talented.
