Gv's and Bomb's

I feel it's very unfair and gamey that you allow GV's to end flight while bombs are being droped on them.

No proxy kill etc ... they land and start shooting at you as they respawn.   You don't even get a kill, because the gv has effectively teleported.

I wish this wasn't so gamey.

This can only happen at a base. So it would behoove you to drop the VH first. Most people are only 2 concerned about themselves and can't be bothered.
So in recap If you have ords and the VH is up drop on VH.  If you are more concerned with killing gv's on tarmac take your chances.
This would be like b****ing about a guy playing peek-a-boo on a runway that's being vulched.

That sucks too. Maybe they can fix both for 2.08.

If I'm not in Tiger I stay & take my chances. If I'm not on concrete at the base I stay anyway, why get a ditch,or if someone has already pinged you up, give them a proxy?

I can dodge most JABO attacks if I'm moving already & see it coming soon enough.....the carpet bombing lancs who drop their entire bomb load to kill one guy however are a little tougher sometimes.:lol

Believe that even if someone has pinged you up you still get a ditch if you are in friendly territory.

Does that work different for GVs?

Iv'e heard this complaint quite a bit and it has merit. Being a fellow GV'r myself I have "towered out" many times to avoid the dreaded onslaught of bombs falling on my head.

While I 100% agree it is a tad "gamey" as you call it, the only reason myself and some of my crew have done this is (and still sometimes do) is NOT because another tank or GV has me ranged or a Hurri is strafing my turret. It's due to the fact that we get a wee bit tired of B17's, Lanc's and B-24's flying 200' off the deck dropping 50 bombs on our heads. Now if that's not "gamey" then neither is towering out.

Maybe one solution is to do what WW2 Online did (not that it's a fix-all) but it worked well. When you "tower out" you have a 10 sec despawn time where your vehichle or person is still in the game. You cant shoot or do anything because you are "despawning" but you can still be killed, thus giving the attacker a fair kill.

If something like this was implimented I would be all for it, however you would have to also impliment some sort of ordinance dropping procedure for the bombers. For instance have to be in F6 bombsite mode, bombs wont arm under 500' (or decent alt) and if the bombers were flown like a fighter or were dive bombing the wings snap off or some sort of structral failure.

my 2 cents

no that does not work for GVs who ever got a ping on you they get the kill on your base or not. has to be on concret to land ok.

while i fully agree when you say being carpet bombed in a gv sucks but i have to disagree when you sit there and preach about not being able to dive bomb. LTAR's are well known for thier dive bombin 24s and i not going into names. in WWII there where bombers that did dive bombin if thats what ment to get the mission done some did. do taking it out of the game is not the answer that would be sayin it was not a part of WWII.

i dont fully agree with the 10 sec despawn cause this is Aces High not WWII online. i personaly would not want to be sitting in the tower or waiting to be able to play the game again. so you get killed and LVTs are rolling into the town and they take your base because you could not up to defend it. would suck if you ask me. and we all know that if we are not able to up as soon as we go down there will be more base loses for this despawning thing.

just my 2 cents

10 sec spawn out timer works well in WW2OL, why not here.

Well you cant despawn a plane till your down on the runway...

I think a despawn timer would be a good idea, but 10 seconds is a bit much...

How about 5...

Can somone jump online and see how far a bomb (that is level dropped) can fall in 5 seconds.

How about keep everything the way it is & give the GV's some cover? lol..."gamey" is having a target trapped on the ground with no where to hide from aerial observation.

"gamey" is being able to fly in a box of buffs 500 feet off the ground & go into F4 view while over enemy controlled ground & bomb by looking down the body of the A/C like a gun barrel.

Where is the overhead camo? Where are the revetments?

 It's "gamey" because......wait for it.....

......it's a game.:p

The best way to deal with people towering before your bombs hit is, Abstenence.

Don't drop bombs on GV's.

It's a proven fact that people who drop bombs on GV's for griefing/fun, will grow warts on their trigger fingers.
