Any American Idol Fans?
« on: May 28, 2006, 12:39:03 AM »
Just thought I'd let you know that it has been proven the gig is fixed. I was listening to Pugs & Kelly on 105.3FM in Dallas. 2 days before the winner was announced on TV they announced who it was going to be. Seems AI sent out pre tour info for the "Idols on Tour" and Taylor Hicks was the headline act. That was 2 days before he won the "contest". They even played the radio commercial recorded by Randy Jackson.

Just thought you might want to know.

Nope, I saw a promo for it, but didn't set the DVR. It looked promising, but you know they had to dumb it down.

I can honestly say I've never watched an episode after Season 1.

RPM out.

Idol is kind of hard to avoid in nz even if you only watch a small amount of TV.

We get a triple helping of it.. American idol and it's two bastard offspring, New Zealand idol and Australian idol. Believe me, the latter two are just as bad.

Checked it out on and off. Wife was religeous about it.

Got real irritated with it when it was being shown in place of "House"
which is a show I love

Far as Im concerned I figured out it was rigged when the person who should have won (Chris) was voted off a couple weeks early

He was hands down the best throughout the season

Probably just didnt fit that american idol "image"

I have only watched 1 episode (the last one this season because my mom and my oldest son were watching it) in all its time on and living here in the Birmingham, AL metro area its kinda hard to miss. Since all the news time stuff deals with that show and how there have been 3 out of 4 finalists from this area. Still each time they start talking about it I go out of my way to change the channel or turn off the TV.

It is said that he got a call from the band Fuel to offer him a job as their lead singer.  He said he's "still thinking bout it".  Either way he is basically OWNED by the executive producer for the next year or so by contract.

Note: Chris turned the offer from Fuel down.

Anyone who didnt think it was is naive. Theres alot of money involved, and does anyone seriously think that they would gamble it on someone chosen by the masses because he seemed nice?

Its not a contest..its entertainment, or attempts to be. Much like wrestling.

Yup. There was a couple of things they arranged. That "ranch owner" (and family) woulda lost their ranch hands (and scalps) in a week. ;)
