This assumes several things - first that everybody stays on the help channel, second that using the help channel for something besides asking questions is OK (we discourage that), third that a brand new player even pays attention to the text buffer, fourth that even if a brand new player pays attention to the text buffer, he would understand "hey bish pony over A1 can I shoot you" was referring to him, and finally that the rook or knight wanting to engage could be certain the answer "sure, go ahead and shoot" was coming from the plane he or she is actually looking at.
You have too be kidding right? Most of these guys that see the commercial on the Military Channel go get the game and come in the TA,The auto placement system places them ,those who are smart enough to figure it out take off in their P-51D (which is the default plane)and fly around, they see a bunch of red dots and fly over too them, they don't know any better
Actually, all new players in the TA are assigned as Bishops and start at A1 so, in order to overfly A1 as a Rook or Knight, they have to change sides. If they know how to change sides, they should know better than to overfly A1.
Truthfully i disagree with that rule (referring to no enemies at A1) on the basis that it applys too friendly's and not too enemy.
Honestly, we don't care if you disagree with it or not as long as you follow it. And for the record, the rules are no bombing at any base which is in use and no engaging without permission. Those rules are not country specific. The overflight at A1 is country specific, but c'est la guerre.
I have started a new training system with some of the guys and find that it works really well,1 person stays bish, the other go's knight or rook and both tune too a upper channel like 217,218, etc. and are still able to comunicate with each other while you are fighting. It gives the trainer the ability too tell the trainee what he or she did wrong. For some reason it is so much better to train when the icons are
RED .
Wow, you invented this? On the other hand, if one or the other augers, you now have several minutes of wait time before you can re-engage.
This game has a very steep learning curve and most people spend the majority of their time tryin too figure out how the other guy keeps killing them and how they can make it stop.
With just a little time, Widewing can help you figure out how to keep the other guys from killing you, too.
You know honestly i figured all the trainers would now simple things like this, they are after all trainers.
Hmmm, you would think we'd have figured out a few things by now.... wait a sec... that must be why the rules in the TA are set up as they are!
