Uh Oh, I'm going to need a few minutes alone.

And a box of tissue.

Though really I would be happy with just the Yak-1, 9M and 9-UT.

I'm not picky.... Oh what the hell, add the Moskit!

I suppose I'd better do some reading to form an opinion.

I really hope that we get the full line of Yak´s once the Yak9s are due for remake...

all of the versions listed here where made in significant numbers except the UT... but the UT would be a great addition to the perk plane lineup..

If we get the line of Yaks, a Mig3 and a LaGG3 we are pretty much set when it comes to russian fighters.

Adding all these Yaks shouldnt be much extra work when remodeling the 9T and 9U as they are relativly similar in shape.

LaGG3 could easily be added with when the LaLas get remade..

When this is done we can finally run AvA RPSes, Scenarios and Snapshots on the eastern front that actually feature russian planes.

As it is today its pretty rediculous when all Russian planes are either British or American.

Straffo,

Sorry, I seem to have lost my Yak book in the divorce settlement (I seem to have lost a lot of these things in the divorce).

You're right, the Moskit was the 1M, I was thinking they kept the nickname for the Yak-3, but I think I'm wrong on that.

As for the future of the Yaks... I'm pretty positive we'll get the 9M when they re-do the model. I'm hopeful that we'll get the 9UT, but I'm not holding my breath. The 9UT in game will cause a big fight here at the house when I try to convince wife 2.0 that I should get my X-45 out of storage. :lol

The Cross of Lorraine never flew over Russia........it was added after the NN returned to France. (but then you know that Straffo!!)

The UT  (2 x B20 + 1 x NS37) was tested as late as March 45 and only then ordered for production (282 were made but its not clear how many before the war end) If we count the August Manchurian campaign then it should qualify..............

The Yak3 would be an MA favourite IMO...

Yak9D is a must for scenarios it sits square beside the La5FN in a post Kursk plane set.

I plead guilty your honor :D

Sikboy, condolence and congrats for your divorce ;)
I've been unable to get a proper reference for the Moskit (my library is quite a mess) but I'm almost (perhaps) pretty (un)sure it was the nickname of the Yak 1M ;)

Most of them fly the same, too. There's very little need for 10 identical yaks. One might make an argument for a special armament variant, like the UT, but D vs T the difference is minimal.

D v. T is pretty significant since the T has the 37mm and the D doesn't.

As far as flying the same, the Yak-3 is unlike any other Yak. From that point of view, it would be a good model.

I can see the Yak-1 so we have more options early war, but I have to agree that we don't really need a half dozen nearly identical aircraft added when there are so many different aircraft from the same theater and point in the war(LaGG-3, MiG-3, I-16, IAR, Buffalo, etc.) that need to be done too.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.
