Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

I still haven't processed all of mine, Gatow pictures are still waiting for their turn... Maybe this week. :)

Nice pics.

Panzzer, maybe you should get one of those beer dispenser helmets, instead of having your hands full? :)

Hehe Snef, one of those was Wasq's, he was just too busy taking pictures at the moment so I had to drink his beer too. Err, I meant hold, not drink... :)

Love the pictures Schatzi,

I've got a dumb question:  Did that 262 fly there?

The Yak, the Lag I see taxi-ing on the runway.  I've seen F4Us and P51s fly...

But I didn't know if there was an airworthy 262 out there...

Thanks

------------------------------edit below-----------------------

Looked at Wasq's pictures and he answered my dumb question...

OMG!!!!  That 262 is beautiful in the air!!!!

If I could hit anything with those potato guns, I'd spend my perks flying that for a week now....

Yes, it did fly.

Theres no airworthy original ME 262 left. This is one of very few rebuilds made on the US west coast (if im not mistaken) so its "only" a replica. It also doesnt have the original Jumo Jet engines (for very obvious reasons, they were very short lived and not very reliable).

And yes, it was VERY sweet to see it fly :).

That's actually a modified Yak-11. The other Yak-11 there (the black one with the flames) was a later Yak-11U with a tricycle-gear for training jet pilots. Then there were the three Yak-3's...

Some variants of Yak 3 were equipped with radial engine. That should be a Yak 3U. See this page: http://www.kotfsc.com/aviation/yak3.htm

Wasq, are you sure this one is a MiG 21?

When I saw it in Schatzi's gallery, I thought it is a Su-22...

The cockpit is too far ahead for a MiG 21, the negative dihedral angles of wings is not typical in MiG, but in the Su-17/22 family, such as the 2 "blades" on the wings and the double probes on nose... I may be wrong, but I think that one is a Sukhoi, not a MiG. :p

Here, look at this two pictures of a Polish Su 20:

EDIT: it took me a while to search some good picture of Sukhoi's, so I missed Panzzer's post... ok, not a Yak 3U :D

BTW, you guys saw that jet with your eyes: does it have variable sweep wing? If so, it's not a MiG-21 without any doubt.

Obviously it's not a Mig-21. Thanks, good to see that someone is looking at the pictures :) The wings are definitely different.

Here's a picture of Su-22 UMK (which I managed to correctly tag. :))

The wings are the same (with vertical "fins"), nose is the same... This one is a two-seater, though.
