Here are some that are a little closer to what I'll really be doing.  I'm going to hell for direct linking, but what the heck.

You gents in uniform get my respect..  and admiration. You do scut work, butt work, put up with crap BS like uniform gigs, grind 'em out day after day..

..thankless work. Underpaid. For a public that doesn't get it, in a society that will hang you high at the drop of the dixie cup hat for being human...

You, gentlemen; are heros.

I just wanted to say thanks again..

THANK YOU.

I don't know what's funnier.  Those comments, or the fact that the boat behind me isn't anywhere near a laser...

Small boat sailors are usually a mite touchy. Or touched. ;)

It's a world of finesse, tactics and experience balanced (literally) on brawn and balls. Timid, they are not.. for only the VERY aggressive are succesful. Vis-a-vis, those same sailors on larger keel boats like a Soling can kill yah.. for unlike the 'dingys', when yah push just a wee bit too far and they broach or capsize.. they sink... or worse.

The only thing I can agree with are the tactics.  The boats we sail are slow, ugly and unstable.  They frustrate the hell out of me.

The Soling is a fine boat designed By Jan Herman Linge: My father used to know him and he has designed many fine boats. I learned to sail on an Yngling (kinda like a smaller version of the Soling)

I kept one for over 20 years. A superb sailer... almost a living thing.
