Lately I’ve noticed that even a Spit V is able to kill the turret with one single strafe or let’s say with just a couple of bullets.

Tell ya what ... sit in that turret and have a Spit V with 20mm cannons rain down on you, along with .303s ... something is gonna give and they would be picking you up with sponges.

I also love how people know exactly how many rounds were fired at them to try and bolster their point ... I have been playing for quite some time and have a fair amount of time in GVs, and still to this day, I wouldn't begin to hazard a guess as to how many rounds were fired at me during one pass ... it's IMPOSSIBLE to tell.

Somehow I don’t recall that it was that vulnerable in Aces High I.

I do ... I don't think for a second that the Osty is anymore vulnerable in AH II as it was in AH I ... at least not when I am in an Osty.

Forget the Osti - we need the Wirbelwind in AH!!!!! Maybe it could be a perked GV or something, kinda like a super M-16 with 4 20 mm's instead of 4 .50's.  That would certainly help to put an end to endless vulching.

If there were never enough of them to equip front line units then why are they in the game?
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Had a fun time yesterday with another guy in M-16's hunting Osty's and M8's. There was an Osty plinking the town from tree cover on the upslope of a hill - laid into him from 1.5 out and killed the turrent crew. Went up the hill - saw him catch a 500 lb bomb from a P-47. Yea - killing the crew is the key. Open turrents - they are a beautiful crux.

problem is consistency with GV damage model -

a) Had IL2 hit my Osty turret from approx 45 degrees with me firing at him and he didn't kill turret.

b) Had La7 come in on the deck from the rear and take out the turret.

One has to be wrong.

Problem is and will continue to be the consistency of GV damage, for both planes dropping eggs/strafing them and GV on GV fights.

Ridiculous I can zoom in on an Ostys turret fire at 1k out, fire down to about 800 and pull out leaving the turret smoking.
Guess all pilots had the Mk III digital eye in WW2.

Needs fixing for Panzers and Tigers also, currently they can kills GV's farther than the record held by a modern day tank.

the "digital zoom" is the normal field of view, the unzipped (what you call normal) view is a wide angle view to make up for the small monitor screens we have to use.
