Mouse Change
« on: June 01, 2006, 06:47:12 PM »
Please give us the option to convert back to the old controls for the mouse.  I have always flown with a mouse, and now have to hold down the left button to modify control inputs, this makes it all but impossible to fly in a combat situation.  Please at least give us the option to switch it back to having to hold down the right button to move the cursor, and use the left button and the wheel for other controls, without having to hold any buttion down to have control input.

I do not fly with mouse, but i know many a new player does for the first few days.

I second that request.

Yes, PLEASE return the mouse operations to it's previous functionality.

Though I have been playing for a year - I still use a mouse.  I actually prefer using a mouse over a joystick (I wont bore you with the reasons).

Thanks HiTech,

Mouse AH vet of over 3 years now.
Own a stick but find it clumsy and unresponsive compared to mouse.

Please re-instate old settings and let us fly again.
Just tried flying offline holding down button 1, rolling wheel button for throttle and firing with other button behind a drone, crashed straight into it.

Take it no-one from HTC actually tried this before implementing.

Smiggy.

Yep.  Completely unuseable now for us mouse guys.

Thanks again AH for restoring this. :-)

Ive been flying with a mouse for 10 years , including 3 years with Aces High.
I have solved 90% of my problem in "Map Controller" option but the other 10%... well flying (moving) by holding down the left button? That 10% will not be acceptable for me to fly. Needs to be fix Aces High. Please.

Driving me up the wall this is.

i wonder why they changed it? there's no logical explanation to do this. Every single mouse user is annoyed by this. Guys are using scotchtape to tape their damn mouse button down to be able to play.

I think this needs to be reverted pronto.

I am one of the mouse crowd as well.  Been playing AH  for 3 + years and have always used a mouse completely through personal preference. Only being able to fly with the curser carefully positioned on the cockpit joystick and then holding the left mouse button in is not realistic. I still haven't worked out how to slew gun turrets or move my GV's using a mouse as yet. Is it even possible?
It would be greatly appreciated if this can be fixed or I can be shown how to fix it.
Cheers

Agreed with all above. Infuriating having to depress the button to fly. Please do something.

Now all I need is the SHIFT-M to work with the keyboard snap views and I can use all my old Thrustmaster gear.

Affects stick users too
« Reply #11 on: June 04, 2006, 10:11:10 AM »
I use the mini-joystick on my X52 to give me PAN views.  It worked for the last 2 years until this recent patch.  TO use it, I'd have the stick in my right hand to fly, left  hand on throttle to control minstick, and some other part of my body to hold the left mouse button down to keep it in MOUSE PAN view.  Looks like HTC is fixiing thisbut it affects more than mouse users.

Any clues on when it may be fixed? at the moment Im paying for nothing, hope to have a stick in the next day or two, but if I could get what I pay for with my mouse inbetween now and then that'd be great.
