The new 38 is a monster....Have films to prove it
« on: June 01, 2006, 08:41:00 PM »
Went to the DA tonight with Gian as the MA was boring.

I filmed 2 of the fights as I forgot to film the others. I will post the forgotten ones when Gian sends them to me.

I think the new 38 is better than the 38 before the bugged patch.

All of a sudden, I want to learn that plane.

Indeed, they have. And, I have already tested two of them for turn radius and rate. Both show considerable improvement. However, they now retain E so well, getting them whoa'd down enough to get full flaps out requires deliberately slowing down. For the P-38G, turn radius is down to about 460 feet, while maintaining just over 20 degrees per second. That ain't bad...

P-51s had their drag model adjusted and they also improved.

What storch said.

Basically the US planes now lose no E,.... AGAIN....

2.07 was a blessing, FM-wise. The only problem was the last stage of 38 flaps. *sigh*

If you knew anything about the P-38, which you repeatedly show that you don't,  it was known for it's wonderful energy retention which is one of the reasons why it's one of the best vertical fighters in the game.
