When Russia celebrates 56 years since the WW II ended - taking nearly 27 500 000 lives with with it...

With every year there are less and less veterans that participating in 9th of May Military Parade. Veterans that fought during WW II... Soon there will be none, but they will be rememmbered...

I remmember when there were endless columns of veterans walking together. With every year that column became shorter and smaller. Hair became grey and hands started to shake... today just a few walking.... My grand dad, at war from 1st to the last day - he is gone for more than 20 years now at age of 65....

My son is 1,5 years old, and i wonder if he will ever remmember seeing any true veteran of WW II. But I will make sure that he will remmember what they did for us, and at what price the victory has been won

Dmitry I saw a document few years ago about two Divisions of Chuikov's 9:th Army (44.th rifle division,Division Commander Vinogradov and 163rd Rifle Division, Division Commander Selendsov) which were destroyed (estimated casualties 22500) in village of Suomussalmi and road of Raate in winter -39.

Makers of that document went to Ukraine to see what kind of information they could find about those men (Most of them were Ukrainian) but in those days even the war-museum didn't "know" those Divisions exist.

Those men didn't die for "cause" but for politics of Kreml but they should be remembered too.
