Do blatant scorepadders names really have to be plastered on AH home page?

Like last tour top fighter ranking?

I do understand HTC needs new players $$, but to go as far as to award unsporty behavior, goes a bit too far.

That's one of the biggest gameplay spoilers ever.

...but at the end of the day its just a game and the object of ANY game is to have a high score. Those games without a score are the exception. If HTC wants to make this game more sim like then they should remove all score keeping.

Just ask DR. NES

When playing the original super mario bros is the object of the game to beat the game or to have the highest score when pitted against a second player? Thats right...the player with the highest score when all extra men are lost is the winner.

I have also noticed that players get upset that they cant get a low rank. Even though they say rank doesnt matter deep down it does to them and thats why they get upset. Especially when they want a CV and someone steals it from them and turns it. These players dont know how easy it is to get a low rank. All you need to do is understand your score and think of ways to pad it. If players want to call you a scorepotato thats OK.  At the end of the day you will be laughing when no one can take a CV from you or whatnot.

Heres some advice...IT is a GAME so game it.

TIPS for rank

Get field captures in a c47 and a m3
Use a PT boat to torp barges and shoot rockets at towns near shores
VULCH in fighter mode
Do much tank town and try for 5 kills a sortie
Do bomber milkruns against cities and such
Use a Stuka with the big bomb and hotpad and repeat as many times as ya can
In attack mode bomb gvs and town and hotpad and repeat

Be an oppritunist... if you smell an advantage take it

I fail to see where listing the top scorers is "unsporty".... I think it's funny that you even look to see who's listed

Solution to a simple problem.

Have the players cast four votes using some .command.    Example:

.vote#1fighter
.vote#2fighter
.vote#1dweeb
.vote#2dweeb

fighter votes add a point towards the pilot and the dweeb votes remove a point.  Pilots with most points are #1 and #2.  Everyone can vote only one time, post results at the end of the tour.

This is only for fighter rank.  Keep the rest of scoring (attack, bomber, gv) the same.

If no one votes, then no one gives a rats arse about who is #1.  If they do, you will have a better idea of who the best is since vulching, picking, and running will make people give you dweeb points were fighting will cause people to vote for you.

:aok

This is why our kids can't do simple math. Instead of marking them on thier abilty to solve the problems, we give them extra marks so we don't hurt thier feelings.

This whole thread gave me a chuckle though!

I vote that we vote for the most popular people to have thier names in lights even if they don't quite make the numbers scoring. ROFL

Or better yet, we should all get a turn at being #1! We could do it alphabetically too, so as no favoritism is shown!

lol for fun i looked up katnip's (never heard of him before) kill stats for last tour.   most of his kills (from aircraft) come when flying a typhoon, then a 110, followed by a 190.  he has a knack for killing ju88's....in fact killed 279 of them last tour alone.  next most popular plane to kill was a 110 at 84, followed my niki at 42.  its very hard to get that many kills of one specific plane, though maybe he just had a great tour, his numbers/stats for the previous tours are not even remotely close.

and yes i have nothing better to do, waiting for g/f to get some can go to dinner:)

?that's the kid I was talking about. 279 ju88 kills.
This tour 20 kills all of which were ju88s.

That kind should be on home page, but in different context as a warning to others.

heck, if I even saw that many Ju88s I woulda kilt them too.  I never did though.  I did manage to kill 200 spit16s, 152 la7s and 91 nikis.  I need to see more ju88s i guess.  :lol
