I have flown through much flak in the last 2 days and have not noticed any difference since the patch.

I havent noticed any changes at all in the ack to be honest.

I've noticed a difference, the puffy ack looks better. Too bad it doesn't vary from the new shape smoke to round like the old version at random times so you could have the new puffy smoke & the old round puffy smoke at the same time.

It is odd that some people are attracting the ack like magnets now from nearly impossible distances & the ones I have heard mention it are not "noobs" but multi-year vets of the game.

I haven't been hit yet except by an ostie on one flight today....oh and a few 20's from a destroyer yesterday that did no damage & I was directly over the boat.

Somethings up -

First time ever in AH2, twice within 20 mins, two different fields:

8k-9k away from field one ping puffy ack, go to tower do not collect $500 do not advance to go.

As I said first time in 5 years, only since patch.

Some of you are just now getting your 1st time puffy ack killed at a distance timeshare? AND it's usually nearly far enough away you can just see the enemy base?

Hmmmm.............

Been happening to me fairly regular. At least 3 times each tour. Sometimes it sure SEEMS LIKE MORE. Within the last week, of the last tour, I got hit 3 times by puffy ack. All of em just within site of enemy base. AND I know some of my countryman were over that field!

Don't SEEM to matter if I'm manuvering or flying straight and level.

I've had it happen with no one around just flying.

I've had it happen while manuvering and fighting. The person I'm fighting is maybe 1 k away turning and trying to avoid my attack. No one else around. Just the two of us.

AND............

BANG and I'm in the tower.

Infuriating isn't it??????????

Most infuriating if your engaged in a 1 v 1 and you have the other guy in your sites and your about to fire or are just begaining to fire! Your thinkin that he has more then likely LOST this fight, BUT, ........... BANG and the PUFFY ack just gave him the victory!

WONDERING if something isn't quite right with the random numbers being used for the puffy ack??????????????????????

Cause at times it sure SEEMS partial to hitting certain people and doing nothing to others.

Got a squadie that seems to have this happen to him more often then me.

If there was one thing I would change with the puffy ack it would be that any A/C flying in puffy ack would run a risk of damage, friendly ack or not. If an enemy plane triggered the ack all A/C should run the same risk of getting hit in the vicinity of the A/C being fired at. The LW didn't follow allied bombers into the ack for a good reason. Also sort of a side note, it wouldn't matter if you were flying straight or jinking, ack like that is somewhat random & only "aimed" in a mild sense of the word.

Edit: I'm not saying the ack is not that way now, I worded it sort of confusing. I meant if it's NOT that way now...it should be.

When I first started playing puffy ack would never hit me. I thought the stuff was just for show. Then a started doing good in the game and now I get hit regularly. Thats just coincidense right?

Just like the collisions. And that wasnt changed either.

You mean you haven't been taken out by your own CV ack yet?
Or hit by your own field ack?

Yup it happens.

there are 3 things you should never discuss at a party, Religion, Politics and the Aces High Collision model.

Regarding puffy Ack, I rarely get hit. Yesterday was the first time in a months that I got any damage from puffy ack and it was only a cracked canopy.
