Rowan's Battle of Britain

Avoid this title like the plauge, at least until (if) the bugs get fixed.

This title was discussed here at the end of the year and many people stated that they would never buy another Rowan title because of past experiences.  Well, I didn't listen and read a good review (PCZone) and bought it anyway.

In it's current form, it's a piece of crap.  The graphics suck, you can't remap keys, and it's buggy as hell.  You want tech support?  I have not called yet but some peep on the  SimHQ boards called for tech support and they suggested that he post a message in the forum at SimHQ.  Rowan's told him to use SimHQ for support!!!!!

I knew that I should have tried the demo first.

I've another experience with BOB :

*smooth with more than hundred planes around
*no ctd at all
*graphics are ok (1024*768*32*FSAA4*4)
*outstandting IA (not like the online combat like in the MA but over average)
*strategic mode rocks !

this to show another point of view

no
I'm just lucky

but if you need help just ask on the simhq BBS I will be happy to help you use BOB who clearly rocks when it work ...
I don't thing it's a buggy software but more a intolerant one (it's pretty sensible to the video/sound drivers  )

I've always wondered what difference hundreds of planes in the air make to you, a pilot of a single fighter...

Graphics do suck compare to anything currently available (even with V5's FSAA)...

Viewing system is Rowan trademarked crap since Dawn Patrol or whatever their WW1 flick was called...

AI is real good though - can't argue with that one.

PCZone is the best gaming mag but they need to fire a guy who reviews flight sims - he has no clue...

Another view

I bought their WW1 thing - it sucked, I bought MiG  Alley  - thank goodness it was EB and they took it back. I'm not falling for this again, reviews or no reviews

I tried the demo and was woefully dissatisfied in almost every possible way. I have tried Rowan in the past and would never buy another sim from them (though that will be no prob, they are now out of the sim business).
