Frame drop outs

I've been running the game with solid frame rates (75 plus) before new patch. With this new patch I will go in on a field and frames drop off from 60 fps to 4 fps.

While I don't have any statistics...I think the same thing has happened for me...

The new fade out on trees?  It only happens close to the ground for me.  I've turned all my sliders to "performance", but I still think I'm at lower framerates.

One question, are you both runnign the 1024 textures? I am not and I'm not having this problem. I have a suspicion that this what is causing it.

I have mini-hangs and little mini-freezes & the frame rates will drop all crazy too. Mine hold near 85fps most of the time, but dip really low at times causing the momentary freezes. I keep my cntrl - I frame rate indicator up all the time & look at it during the little glitches & it goes down to 1fps sometimes.

I also use the 1024 textures.

I had the same thing (I think it's tree related) but I've been running 512 texture resolution.

Pyro, I am running an Evga 7900GTX & the 90 series Nvidia drivers. I was getting great performance on this set-up pre 2.08

Now my frame rates will drop from 85 (my max refresh rate on my monitor) to 1 & back to 85 in a few seconds causing stutters.

Edit: I am also using Mitsu soundpack if that matters

 thank you for inquiring.

Same problem for me, loss of FR. And micro stutters, fadin trees, invisible trees, whole terrain changes from woods to open areas when closing in. Although I did manage to do some BIOS tweaking to inprove somewhat( dropped CAS Latency fom default 3.0 to 2.0, enabled fast writes, etc). These are fixes that obviously should'nt have to be considered by the everyday person who only wants to play. And besides, a vast majority won't know how to do it, or system won't allow. BTW, I'm using an ASUS 880 mobo overclocked 30%, an AMD 1500+ (yes 1500) CPU, 1024  ram, 6600gt vidcard OC'd. FR jumpes are significant, from 60-70+, down to teens(before my tweaks), now I still lose a lot(fluctuations of 40-50 at times). I'm running 512 textures, sliders about 3/4 to detail. My card seems to like the detail side of the graphic scale. I also use the Beta drivers(problem was occuring even before I installed the Betas), and the Nvidea tweaks. Hope this is an easy fix for the less puter savvy ppl. Otherwise you might have more dropping out.

Also what is up with the massive FR hits the CV's are causing?  At first I thought it was just all the fire in the base we were attacking that made it go from 43 to 12 but it was fine when I turned away from the CV to fly through the fires again.  It also droped to 16 when landing on it no fire or other planes.
I even took my sliders down to half and still got the big FR hit.

I never had a problem with them pre patch so I'm guessing it's something that got changed with this version.

While I have noticed about a 10 to 15fps drop in frame rates, I haven't experienced the freezes others have. So I did a little experiment and turned off Vsync for my system.

Bingo! Freezes all over the place. Turned it back on and all is normal again.

I get the FR hits from cv's now as well. Running 84 FPS then just look at the cv and FR drops to the mid 30's. And thats w/o the fleet acks firing.

Yep!!  Skuzzy said in the thread in tech support part of BBS.

Vsync should be ON!

Makes a big difference on my system!
