Islamic Jihad vows bombing campaign in Israel

Gaza (Reuters) -- A militant Palestinian Islamic group vowed on Friday to pursue a bombing campaign to create a "balance of terror" in its jihad, or holy war, against Israel.

"The choice of holy war will never stop," Abdallah al-Shami, a leader of Islamic Jihad, told supporters at a Gaza rally to mark last week's killing by Israeli troops of a would-be bomber.

"The choice of carrying out explosive attacks in the heart of the enemy will continue, not only within the 1967 lands, but in all of Palestine, from the Nile to the sea and from the north to the south," Shami told a crowd of more than 2,000.

"We confirm that the bombing missions will continue to create a balance of terror," he said. "The destruction of the enemy's cities and villages and the killing of settlers is the choice. So, be ready, Sharon."

Why on God's green earth did He put the largest oil reserves on the Planet near that region?  Must be some sort of a joke...since anything hostile that goes on in that area affects the world!  Maybe its His way of saying 'Find another energy source!'.

The isrealis and the palestinians are tied i believe for meaningless slaughter of women and children -
not lookin to start a huge isreali vs palestine thing or flame your post eagler ( in know why you're angry and i dont like cowardly terrorists in general either) but honestly i don't much care what happens to any isreali at this point.

I used to be very pro israel - but i didn't really know why other than that is what the news said our official position was. whenever i have a strong belief and dont know why i get worried.  

The day i tried to imagine what it would be like to have a bunch of foreigners come to your town and take over - reducing you to a second class citizen and telling you where you could and couldn't go was the day i realized i had some idea of what the palestinians were angry about.

How many people actually decided after consideration that they are pro isreali vs. how many people have seen chuck norris, sly stallone etc constantly driving it in that we are anti-arab and pro isreali? who writes all those movies anyway?

Has the evening news ever really been objective about it? no....evil palestinians holy isrealis. i mean we are so conditioned!!!!

What if the seminoles came to florida and reclaimed their land - and you got booted from your job because you arent a seminole? what if they herded you out of your house and into a different part of town that you didnt want to live in?- would you roll over and say thank you sir? no you'd be a terrorist too -

If you are pro-israeli then you shouldnt mind if the mexicans come and kick me out of san francisco reclaiming their  promised land right? and then of course the miwok could come and kick them out in turn and then of course the neanderthal....and so on. same logic.

Dont like the palestinians or the israelis is my point - but i am not willing to side with the israelis  - we should let em fight it out. we only import about 50% of our oil and of that only 20% comes from the middle east (of course correct me if you have more accurate info) so screw em lets stop making them rich

 I understand that you can be fed up with stupid movies but there are other sources of opinion about the situation in the area.

 Like history. I understand it is also controversial, but at least it is something to base an opinion on.

 As for many people (including newsmen) already having their opinion, why do you think they got them based on the same movies you did? May be they are really less ignorant than you think.

the decision to partitian palestine was made many years ago by other people - would we make the same decision today? how about the kurds - the largest ethnic minority with no homeland - lets cut up turkey and give them a piece - (no puns intended there btw )

if the turks dont like it we will villainize them thru constant caricature and negative portrayal in every medium available - the arabs dont just hate the usa for fun - they hate us because we support their oppressors -  i am just saying maybe we should rethink our suport of isreal - we cant be their sugar daddy forever

Hmm.. the PLO, the organization that invented terrorism . Executing Olympic athletes, holding school children hostage, their resume goes on and on . Separation of church and state is the LAST thing these fanatics want . You have to look at the history and how the whole thing was played out after WWII. You will see what the British did, what the US did and why everyone is pissed. It is a mess over there not only from WWII but from WWI. It was the way the partitioning of those countries was done that is causing most the friction today. The religions have ALWAYS been at each other. It is part of what is going on in the Balkans. It was how things were divided up after WWI and WWII that plays a major roll in what is happening over there. I wont go into what I think but if you really look at the middle east from the end of WWI on you will see. I mean you will REALLY see what happened. Oil just complicated what was already a bad situation. Read the book 'The Prize". It is EXCELLENT. It will explain the oil side of it. The rest of it you will really have to dig out of history because it has be intentionally obscured with vagaries. Of course the problem goes back much much farther than WWI but WWII is where are modern problems started. Read about Lawrence of Arabia. Really dig. There is some fascinating history down there. These problems date back to the fall of the Roman Empire and before. I guess I would say that the roots of the modern problems start with the Moslems pissing off the Christians and cutting them of from there trade route to the east. They put tariffs on the goods. Well we couldn't have that crap so we went on the Crusades (A great cover up for the wealthy to get the trade routes back religion always makes a great cover for the real issue. People are ready to die for what they believe). Well when that didn't go as well as we liked we started forking out major bucks to explore for a new route to all those goodies in China. Then... you read the rest. I could really get into this one but I don't type that well and I don't like all the crap when you voice a different opinion on here. Everyone gets in such a tizzy. I already went too far with the Crusades one I bet.   Really look at how the British handled the Jews and who controlled what over there before WWII. Really look at what the US did. Truman was a major factor in what went on right after WWII. You will REALLY see what's got all the panties in a bind. WWI, WWII, and oil complicated what was already mess going back into Bronze age history.

I agree with you when you say, that religion is used as cover for other motives. But if they are pissed, fight like men. Bomb police headquarters, military targets, heck even politicians are fair game. But don't blow up buses, cars, airplanes .. just to kill. I know I am ignorant as the true meaning of the fighting and how they feel, but fight a war like a war not a chicken toejame operation. If they have right on their side, I'd think their neighbors would back them and support them militarily. I just don't think they do. When you have nothing but terrorists and terrorist states standing behind you, I'm sorry, I'll pick the other side. The lesser of two evils... I think they get off on killing, whether it's an Israel soldier or a bus full of school kids. If they used their energies constructively, they would at least gain the world's ear. Hard to listen to all the kill, murder chants and feel sorry for them.
