Lion Kills Man Who Climbed Into Cage at Ukrainian Zoo
Monday, June 05, 2006

KIEV, Ukraine  — A lion killed a man who climbed into its enclosure in the Ukrainian capital's zoo, police said Monday.

The lion attacked the 45-year-old Ukrainian late Sunday after he used a rope to climb down into an enclosure with four lions, said Kiev police spokesman Volodymyr Polishchuk.

He said the man, who was not identified, was acting aggressively and the lion seized him by the throat. The man, an ethnic Azerbaijani, died at the scene.

Ukrainian TV channel NTN broadcast interviews with witnesses who said the man told them that he wanted to test God, believing that God would not allow the lions to hurt him.

Zoo officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

That wasn't test, he wanted a real test he shoulda jumped from a 20 story building. If he survived that he woulda had something to talk about.

The only thing he proved is that the lions were hungry.

Or that wild animals built to kill enormous animals will have no trouble with a frail human, it's our brain that makes us superior & obviously this guy was unarmed. Maybe someone should have insisted he took his meds before he left for the zoo.

Now if only MORE stupidity was fatal perhaps we could breed it out.

As it is WAY too many people do too many things that SHOULD kill them and doesn't. Thats not a good sign.

I may translate it incorrectly, I have read Bible in Russian only.

IIRC Bible said that a lamb will lay next to a lion, not a donkey or a ram.

(donkeys and rams are symbols of dumbness and/or stupidity in Russian language)

Yeah, but the lamb probably won't act aggressively to the lion...it's probably just gonna lay down & sit quietly thankful it went un-noticed :lol
